Lovely inn facility. Horrible restaurant

Bellissima location immersa nella campagna, ottima cucina genuina e gustosa.Una vacanza rilassante per staccare dallo stress quotidiano e ricaricare le pile!!

Poco da segnalare.. posto bellissimo, pulito e silenzioso. Ottimo per rilassarsi e godersi qualche giorno per se stessi. Personale cordiale e disponibile. Nella mia stanza (Peonia) unica cosa da segnalare è la poca luminosità data da una porta finestra stretta e con gli alberi esterni che frenano la luce, bisogna stare spesso con la luce accesa.

It was our the best stay in Sicily. Quiet, peaceful place; local cuisine for dinner; very pleasant hosts; spacious room and jet tub worked very well. Location is perfect for visiting Modica, Noto and Ragusa. Rural, beautiful area! Will definitely stay there again when visiting Sicily. Thank you!

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights. We arrived, by car, in some of the heaviest rainfall that we had experienced. But the welcome was warm and we really enjoyed our stay. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. We were probably one of the most distant from parking and reception but WiFi was strong. On our first night, we ate locally, 500 metres away, but ate at the hotel restaurant on the second. Giovanni, the host, was very proud to tell us we were having olive oil which had been pressed that very morning!. The food was delicious and complemented by good local wine. Breakfast was also a delight. Our table neighbours were repeat returners from the Isle of Wight and we could understand what drew them back. Highly recommended and a good location for exploration.

This is a lovely place to stay. Unfortunately, it was raining very hard during our stay, so we weren't able to make use of the beautiful pool, but the staff and the restaurant were excellent. Highly recommend it.

Lovely spot, not too far from Modica or Noto. Rooms are a bit dated, but very comfortable and roomy. Nice having a mini bar in the room. Food was excellent, lovely breakfast and very good dinners (they were very accommodating to my not eating any meat). Beautiful pool and grounds full of flowers and olive & pomegranate trees.

This is a large, beautiful property in an agricultural area about 20 minutes from Modica. The grounds are gorgeous and the pool is huge (if a bit chilly). The rooms were modest-size but clean and comfortable. A private patio would have been nice but we had a table outside our room with a view of the grounds. The breakfast was very complete with an option to eat on a terrace overlooking the countryside. The restaurant serves a set-menu dinner at a single sitting by reservation only. It's pricey, but the good and wine were exceptionally good. The hotel is in a very rural area central to the Val di Noto towns of Modica, Ragusa and Scicli which are reachable by country roads in 20-30 minutes, but you must have a car. There is only one restaurant within walking distance, but several others a short drive away. Bring a GPS!

Nice hotel,very friendly staff, good food. Well located to discover the 3 baroque towns Notto, Ragusa and Modica, and then enjoy the nice pool.

C'est en pleine campagne à quelques kms de Modica que se trouve "il granaio". L'accueil est convivial, les chambres sont belles, assez grandes, très propres et bien équipées La salle de bain est elle aussi suffisamment grande avec de la robinetterie de qualité. La propriété est superbe avec une grande piscine à débordement et la possibilité de bénéficier de soins de bien-être. Le petit déjeuner est correct et les repas servis le soir sont composés de trois plats (antipasti, primi et secondi) et le dessert. Ils sont préparés par la "mama" des deux frères gérant les lieux. Ces repas sont l'occasion de goûter à de nombreuses spécialités siciliennes concoctées dans la plus pure tradition pour le prix de 28€. La carte des vins (siciliens) est très bien fournie .Nous avons loué deux chambres durant trois jours dans ce lieu idéalement situé pour visiter le secteur RAGUSA, NOTO, MODICA. Un vrai bonheur! A recommander sans aucune hésitation.

Fantastic stay, clean and comfortable excellent buffet breakfast, great location only 10 mins from Modica centre. A good base if exploring other areas, Rugusa, Scicli, Noto.Lovely pool and gardens .The owner is most helpful, accommodating and friendly.

Great hotel, very clean and lovely pool. Rooms are lovely and the whole place has been done with quality and taste. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfast and evening meal really good.

Ett mycket trevligt ställe som ligger på perfekt avstånd till flera charmiga orter på sydöstra Sicilien (Modica, Noto, Syrakusa, Ragusa etc). Utmärkt service och trevligt personal. Har en mycket prisvärd restaurang som serverar fyrarättersmiddag på kvällar. Frukosten på terassen var utmärkt. Finns ett spa i anslutning till hotellet som också var mycket trevligt. Överlag en fantastisk vistelse. Kommer definitivt återvända.

Wie erwartet entsprach das Agriturismo Il Granaio unseren Wünschen nach Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit. Wir fanden großes Entgegenkommen bei einem Zimmerwechsel. Das Frühstücksbuffet war reichhaltig und und befriedigte sicherlich alle Geschmäcker. Allerdings sollte man auf der Webseite genauer hinschauen und beachten, dass das Restaurant am Abend ein Vier-Gänge-Menu ab 20.00 Uhr serviert. NICHT a la carte. Das hatten wir offensichtlich übersehen und hatten so unsere Probleme damit. Diese hängen mit unseren Essgewohnheiten zusammen. Am Abend essen wir nicht so spät und nicht so reichlich. Wir haben das Menu probiert. Es war übrigens von hervorragender Qualität. Uns bescherte die Völlerei eine schlaflose Nacht und so haben wir uns dieses kulinarische Vergnügen versagt. Dazu kommt, dass es nicht ganz billig ist. Zwei Personen müssen da schon mit einer Flasche Rotwein etwa 75.00 € berappen. Ich beschränkte mich auf einen Snack auf der Terrasse im abendlichen Sonnenschein mit mitgebrachtem Käse, Tomaten, Oliven, Weißbrot und einem guten Rotwein. Nun dürfte es vom Hotel nicht so schwierig sein auch eine solches Angebot mit den landestypischen Produkten in ihr Programm aufzunehmen. Sicherlich würden es einige Gäste danken. Ach so, Ich habe kein deutschsprachiges Fernsehprogramm gefunden. Alles in allem - ein erholsamer Urlaub wieder einmal im schönen Sizilien. Das wir mit dem Mietwagen von Budget übers Ohr gehauen wurden lag nicht beim Hotel, sondern bei EXPEDIA!!!

Sehr schöne Anlage, die Zimmer etwas klein, aber die dazugehörige Terrasse mit Tisch und Sessel hebt diesen Nachteil auf, hervorzuheben ist die äußerst nette familiäre Betreuung, hervorragendes reichhaltiges Frühstück, Abendessen sehr gut, frisch, landestypisch, vor allem, dass man sich nicht festlegen muss, und jeden Tag entscheiden kann, ob man das Abendessen vor Ort einnimmt, sehr flexibel, sehr lobenswert,

We stayed at Il Granaio for 4 nights earlier this month. We selected it because of the good reviews it had received and because it seemed to be conveniently located to visit the baroque towns in the area and also that it was in a quiet, peaceful location. We were not disappointed with our choice. The location was perfect for us, being quite close to Modica, yet in a quiet location. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful, and some English spoken. We had dinner each evening in their restaurant, the meals being varied, plentiful and of very good quality, all being home cooked, and there is an extensive wine list of local wines with prices to suit everyone. Each course was explained to us as it was being served which helped us to understand the local dishes we were eating. Breakfast was top class with a fantastic choice, including lots of fresh fruit, almonds, plus cereals, cheeses, cooked meats and even two types of almond milk. Mention must be made of the fresh ricotta that was still warm as it was brought to the buffet table.. There are beautiful gardens and a large swimming pool and my wife particularly enjoyed having two massages and commented the masseuse was extremely good. Only let down was the standard room which was dark and the bed was not particularly comfortable. Maybe worth paying extra for one of the superior rooms, although that would add substantially to the cost.

Close to Modica, this family-run Agriturismo is excellent. We stayed for ten days and although we booked B&B we stayed into dinner every evening as it was so delicious. Everything home-made and meat and vegetables were from their own farm. We were given a bottle of their own olive oil and marmalade as a gift when we left. Sicily is a huge Island and it meant that we had to travel quite far most days to do our sight-seeing but it is possible to stay in different Agriturismos around Sicily as there appear to be about 170. However, it suited us this year to stay in one location and to see as much as possible within sensible travelling times. Our room had a sunken jet tub in it which we used a few times during our stay which was just a bit of fun (being old married folk) but they also have a Wellness Spa with a sauna, Turkish steam room, Jacuzzi and a hot stones massage. There are various massage treatments available and the back massage I had was definitely one of the best. There is also an outdoor swimming pool which is a good size and lovely gardens with enough sun-loungers for everyone staying. We are already planning a return trip but will make it a two centre holiday so that we can see more of the many attractions Sicily has to offer.
