This is not the place for everyone, but it was perfect for me and my 2 teenage sons.
The stairs are steep getting to the bedrooms. If you have any physical challenges, it’s not for you.
With that being said, I loved it! It is what I, as an American, would consider a traditional Japanese house. The beds and dining table were on the floor. It’s in a nice, quiet neighborhood. There is a Family Mart and 7-11 close by. It’s a short walk to the train station and 2 stops from Universal Studios.
Yui was a dream host. The communications were quick. I could not have asked for a better host.
With 2 teenage boys, one is 6’3” and the other is 6’1”, regular hotels are not an option. This place provided enough room for us. The doorways are shorter than what we are used to, so I heard a lot of “ouches” throughout our stay. 😂
I highly recommend this place!
This traditional Japanese home was absolutely perfect for our trip. Yui-San was accommodating from start to finish. I wish we had more time to truly appreciate the lengths taken to make us feel comfortable in their home, it was only on our last day that I found the brand new toothbrushes by the sink. Yui-San was even kind enough to allow us to use their fancy tea set, the slim-compact washing machine, their full kitchen and even the kotatsus in every room! The entire property was well taken care of and it showed, each room had a heater which was perfect for the cold at night. The futon’s were so comfortable and the blankets felt so nice at the end of each day. Plus the traditional Japanese bathroom was wonderful to experience (our party was afraid the shower would be too cramped). Overall an absolutely lovely home, I only wish we could show our appreciation through more than just a review.
