we arrived at kawaguchiko station at 8PM, and took a taxi to the hostel as the shuttle service is only available until 6.30 PM. taxi cost about 800-900 yen. check in was very easy. the uncle manning the office didn't speak much english, but managed to explain the essentials using a booklet. we requested the room facing Mt Fuji and they granted it, which was awesome. note thay they only have 3 rooms facing Fuji-san. room was on 2nd floor and we have to bring our luggages ourselves, which was not a bother. the floors are wooden and you can hear when someone walks past your room. the room was really spacious. you can the hostel is old, and it is a hostel, so don't expect much in terms of amenities. bring your own towels, toothbrush, although you can rent/buy them for 200-300 yen. the shared toilet and bathroom were clean and nice. had shower in the morning and it was energizing. other guests already checked out I guess, so we had the bathroom all by ourselves. they provide free bread for breakfast until 9.30 AM. there are vending machine, coffee maker and a PC with internet in the lobby. important info to anticipate: free shuttle from hostel to kawaguchiko station is every 30 mins until 10 AM. shuttle from station to hostel starts from 3 PM tp 6.30 PM, but you need to call the hostel in advance tp notify them. as you can see from the pictures, the view is spectacular. worth every penny we paid. overall, really good stay with a to die for view. will definitely recommend and stay there again. 🇲🇨🇯🇵
