Stuff are so kind and willing to help.The location is good for subway and bus.I'll stay here again next time when visiting Kyoto though the space is so narrow in the room.

The staff is SUPER friendly, helpful and able to speak fluent English. She's proactive to introduce Kyoto (not only the hostel itself) to guests with clear guidance on the transportation or walking paths. The hostel is an over-100-year-old wooden house, near subway and bus stops. The dorm is relatively small but the private rooms are spacious. It'd still be nice to experience staying in the old Kyoto house.
The wooden old house means poor in the sound insulation. Though the staff has already reminded all guests before check-in, some were still inconsiderate. If you can sleep with the noise, then that's no problem to stay in the hostel. Also, you may not be able to use the kitchen facilities except the water boiler due to the concern of the load of electricity.
All in all, this is still a nice hostel in Kyoto. Worth to stay again next time!

第一次入住此民宿，民宿員工非常親切有問必答並且相當熱情友善，設備也非常多元，此次前往為冬天並還碰上大雪天，房間內的棉被、床墊相當足夠與保暖，印象非常的好，很適合自由行的旅人居住，早上也可以作個簡易早餐或著晚間消夜，位置也鄰近地鐵站、公車亭、湯屋及觀光景點，下次肯定會再次入住。

飯店是100年歷史的古町家建築，位於古川町商店街內，相當貼近在地生活，交通位置很方便，附近還有錢湯可以體驗，工作人員服務很親切，飯店內有很多旅遊參考資訊，雖然房間隔音設備不佳、房間空間頗小，但床很舒服，戴上耳塞仍可一夜好眠！

On a dû quitter après une seule nuit parce qu'on n'a pas été capables de dormir de la nuit. Le tatami est de très piètre qualité, la ventilation industrielle juste au-dessus de nos têtes faisait un boucan d'enfer, le manque d'isolation nous faisait entendre chaque pas dans la rue en face et le manque de rideaux combiné à la lumière dans la rue a détruit notre rythme circadien. En plus, nous n'avons croisé aucun employé, ils travaillent tous à distance depuis la pandémie, ce qui peut expliquer l'absence de déjeuner inclus. Finalement, lors de notre arrivée, un inconnu dormait sur le plancher de la salle commune, ce qui n'a pas aidé notre sentiment que cet endroit est un piège à touristes.

The property does not look like that pictures on Expedia. The mats you sleep on on the floor are thin, other hostels i have been to have not been like this. The bathroom is outside but kept clean, down a VERY steep flight of stairs which was not great. The shower was clean. Breakfast included means rice porridge made in a crock pot situation left there all day to harden, cleaned out and then more is made. There is ZERO staff present if you have any problems. The ceiling has visible rain damage but it rained bad when we stayed and rain did not come inside. Also the door is a sliding door and it doesn’t fully shut, tiny crack so people can see inside. Wasn’t the worst but would not pay for it again.

おそらく値段以上の価値がある施設と思います。快適に過ごすことが出来ました。ベッドにも荷物置き場があり、配慮が行き届いていました。スーツケースを持って上り下りするにはあまりにも階段が急だったのと、朝のおかゆがあっという間になくなるのが、気になったところです。後者は、サービスなのでコメントすべきところではないかもしれませんが。

Sehr einfach aber zweckmäßig, wir hätten auch relativ gut geschlafen wenn andere Hostelgäste nicht um 3 Uhr nachts eine lustige Gesprächsrunde eingeläutet hätten (durch die Papierwände hört man natürlich jeden Schritt und jedes Wort, was auch okay geht aber nicht um die Zeit). Zimmer war sauber, Dusche leider nicht, die Haare im Ablauf waren auch sicher nicht erst seit einem Tag dort. Mit dem kontaktlosen Check-hat alles prima geklappt, Handtücher waren leider erst etwas später verfügbar aber nicht dramatisch.

「チェックイン方法はメールでお知らせします」とありましたが、メールが来なかったので直接宿に行ったら説明書きがあり分かりました。
基本的にスタッフさんはおらず、タオルなど使ったものはチェックアウト時に各自料金を置いておくシステムです。皆さんの善意で成り立っている宿だと思います。
部屋はいい感じの和室で落ち着けます。リビング（和室ですが）には漫画などがあり、自由に読めます。朝ごはんのお粥も美味しかったです。トイレが外なので、冬は少し寒いかもしれません。
音を気にする人は向いてないですが、他の方の生活音などにも風情が感じられる、という方にはオススメです。

Small house East (best) side of Kyoto, it's is a small shopping street and I found the location excellent to go anywhere. Its an experience to stay in such building and also very good value for money. However, it come with the traditional houses' features including a complete lack of sound proofing. Bring hearplugs and stay quiet at night for the other guests. Was totally worth if for the price but set your expectations accordingly.
