贺名生旧皇居酒店

​I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience about this stay. The property is located in an incredibly remote area with absolutely no stores or restaurants nearby. Be aware that the on-site pizza restaurant is closed several days a week, and when it is, you cannot even use the terrace. There are no walking trails around the area, and the owner offered zero recommendations for things to do or places to eat. ​Furthermore, the place looks nothing like the photos. The facilities are old and dated, and the kitchen wasn't even stocked with basic essentials like plates. Upon arrival, the owner gave us a very cold reception and was quite rude. We definitely got the impression that he prefers local guests over international tourists. ​To top it all off, the price is outrageously high for what you get. Just to give you an idea, we paid significantly more for this disappointing stay than we did for our nights in major cities like Osaka and Kyoto. I strongly advise against booking this place, especially if you are a foreigner.

客室は広く無駄なスペースがない配置で、どこに何があるのか分かりやすく動きやすかったです。 室内もかなり綺麗で驚きました。

Dinner can be provided. We had pizza and pasta and both were excellent. Host is very nice and gave us a nice introduction. Highly recommend this property.

This hotel has only one guest house, not room. The house has two bed rooms with two single bed in each. You can play piano if you wish. Big bath, small kittchen clean toilet to stay number of days with a family or friends. Food is not math produced. We have had a game (November) in Italian style for dinner. Hotel is more than 200 year old historical buirding but well maitained. Owner explains building and it's uniqe history. It was our own way from Koya-mountain to Nara by car.

とにかく素晴らしいです！南朝時代の皇居として使用された堀家の母家に隣接する離れに泊まれるのですから。内部は綺麗にリノベーションされてますし、とても快適です。離れの横、母家の横には川が流れてますので、そのせせらぎや、カジカガエルの声が聞こえてきて、とても情緒があります。泊まった日は、はからずも満月でしたので、広々としたお風呂に入り、その窓から月と川を眺めておりました。心の底から癒されるひと時でした。お風呂は家族で入れる大きさなので、ゆったりできます。ホテルの周りには人がいませんので、夜になると川の音しかしません。庭に出て自然の音に包まれながら、満月を愛でつつお酒を飲む最高の時間。魂の洗濯が出来た気がしました。また、当主の堀様も品のある素敵な方で、さすが代々続いてこられたお家柄だと感動しました。歴史好きな方は是非、またそうでない方でも、きっと満足出来るホテルだと思います。今回は食事無しでしたので、それだけが心残りですね。次回は是非、食事もしてみたいと思いました。ありがとうございました！
