Location is great. Only 10-15 minutes walk to Kiyomizu-dera and Gion. The house is very cute. Very roomy compare to hotel room. Had an issue with upstairs AC unit. Customer service returned my email very quickly to guide me through. It was an user issue 😂. Washer and dryer is all in one unit. We had hard time drying our cloth. But I think the trick is to leave the door to the unit open so machine could have better air circulation. Other than that, we had a great time staying at this property.

We had a pleasure staying at Reikaku. The house offers authentic machiya and modern mix vibes. We had a trouble using electric stove but the owner responded right away and able to figure out. Very helpful! Also the location is perfect! Just a block away from all tourist sites and our favorite Arabica coffee shop! We walked to Gion couple times with a stroller and it was very convenient for us.

Tomomi is a great host. I would recommend Wechat app to communicate with her if need be. 7/11 nearby for international ATM and quick takeouts. Highly recommend cafe Naty for breakfast (opens at 7am) and cafe garcon for crepes within 5 min walking distance.
