I have stayed in many hotels during this trip, and out of them all, this was the dirtiest. There were cobwebs on the walls, hair in the bathroom, semen stains on the bed-covers, dirt on the floor. But the bed was made, so clearly the room had been prepared. It’s also an old, rickety building that smelled of cigarettes even in the non smoking rooms. There were also lipstick marks on the outside of the window, as well as what I think were butt-marks based on the shape and height of them. There was no balcony, so I’m not sure how those happened. All in all, this was not a pleasant place to stay. The staff were friendly, no problem with the people, I think there just wasn’t much care put into cleaning or maintaining the rooms.

Situated near the Shin Osaka near the Hankyu Kyoto Line and the Osaka Subway Midosuji Line, the Shin Osaka Sunny Stone Hotel is a bit of a relic from Heisei 1, but the staff are excellent. Some of them speak English, or at least understand it. The level of service is very good, and there were no issues during my stay. A special stand out, in 3 previous business hotels in Japan, I have never had a dryer that fully dried my clothes. No issues here! Well done. The soundproofing between the walls was fantastic, and a far cry from newer constructed business hotels. The bathroom is a standard module that has been used for decades with a smaller than usual bath by western standards. The water pressure was excellent as well as the water temperature. I would recommend this hotel as a step back in time and for the location alone. Many small restaurants in the area as well.

Place is clean, free breakfast, very closed to the train stations what we like. Staff are very nice and helpful.

Great location for tourist, close to subway stations and great restaurants close by.

Great staff easy location

The staff was great. Food was good. Property and such are showing their age but are well maintained. Is still within what I consider walking distance of the train station though other modes of getting about are well before that.

Decent sized room, quiet area near the train and subway.

Maybe because I couldn't find my directions, it is a bit of a walk from Shin Osaka station. Since my tour gathered at 7 am at Shin-Osaka station, I needed to start walking from my hotel before 6:30am to ensure I find the right place to embark. But the price of the hotel is really affordable. The inside of the room is way more clean and comfortable than I thought. Thank you for keeping the room so comfortable.

It's an old, clean, price-competitive hotel with convenient access to Umeda on a two-course train ride. It's a simple morning, but it's a basic meal. The noise is an old hotel, so don't look forward to it too much.

Breakfast buffet was great! Everything worked great and we had a pleasant time.

I liked the convenience this property offered in terms of being close to transportation options. Nishinakajima-Minamigata stations were close by. I also noticed two rental car companies were within yards from the building as well as four separate convenience stores.

Bed was unbelievably stiff and uncomfortable

15-20 min walk to shin-osaka. 6min walk to metro. 24 hour grocery store 3min. Quiet and cozy single rooms

It’s really is a convenient place to stay if you are planning a budget trip to Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe and USJ. It’s located at two Stations away from Osaka-Umeda Station.

Very close to subway station. Good value for money. Clean and comfortable. Felt safe as a solo female traveller

Easy, convenient walking distance to metro, Family Mart and 7-11. Great amenities. Mini fridge and electric kettle appreciated. I would book hotel again.

The outside of this property is in good condition but inside is a bit tired look.

The room is so stinky and lots of cigarette smell. The room is also very small and old.
