Tofukuji SAKURA 东福寺 樱

The stay was fantastic! Very close to transport and a lot of great and cheap places to eat. There’s also a very western cafe just down the road-over priced but really great coffee. Beautiful home and lovely amenities. I will say two things: 1. There is a hot plate listed and photographed however this was NOT at the property. I messaged the host and they took a while in responding that it was there…it absolutely was not and we looked everywhere!! It was a shame as we had wanted to cook that night, for our kids. 2. The stairs and scarily steep and narrow. This wasn’t ideal with a toddler. We were all on high alert. 3. The bath outside is TINY. If you are over 5ft 5ish then you are having a shower. Hehe. These are fairly manageable issues. The place is beautiful, peaceful and surrounded by temples and quiet. We booked it half way through our Holliday and it was a beautiful place to rest and reset before the hassle and bustle of Tokyo. I did however lose my wallet during checkout-needless to say it’s still in Kyoto and I am now in Australia. 😩
