This was a gorgeous place to be in the middle of Winter. The hotel is amazing and the surrounding nature and lake are breathtaking. Ee had a few things planned for the visit, but preferred just to stay in the hotel/resort

The Windsor is a excellent expensive 5-star hotel, food and dining only choices available within hotel. Will try other hotel choices next time.

Have to call them to make reservations for the shuttle, which may be difficult for foreigners. Tried to msg them through Expedia's platform but it went unanswered. Couldn't contact them through their website as well. Overall, still a pleasant stay.. although the fireworks is quite small from high up. View of clouds from the hotel is nice in the early morning.

Beautiful property and hotel with amazing views all around. The staff was wonderful with great hospitality. Very good breakfast on site as well which I recommend adding to your stay as it’s far to the main town to get breakfast. Only small criticism is the WiFi was substandard for a property with so much focus on the details. Was difficult to connect to and stay connected to.

Beautiful property, food was delicious, but need to understand preferences of foreign travelers better. Check-in was quite slow and Onsen should be open longer hours.

The property is older but well maintained. The views are absolutely amazing! You definitely need a car if you stay here - the hotel sits on a mountain top and quite some distance from town (restaurants, shops, and convenience stores).

Checked in was all fine, then receptionist asked us about a dinner reservation, as we had been travelling all day to get here we didn’t know what time we would arrive. We were there at 7pm. We were informed there were no bookings in the French or Japanese restaurant, and only available in Sushi restaurant. Unfortunately my wife is not a fan of sushi. After many back and forwards of telling us there is no available dinner options, and my asking to speak to the manager, they found us a reservation at the near empty French restaurant!! The food was very nice Wait staff were lovely Just incredibly disappointing that the hotel did not want to assist us in a dining reservation. When you stay at a high end hotel like this I expect a lot better We travel Japan a lot and until now have never had a poor experience

Spectacular room views! Such a stunning and remote hotel with many dining and activity options. Will definitely be back.

Spectacular location and views for a snowy wonderland in winter. The lobby and sitting areas are beautiful and peaceful. It is quite remote but with a free daily transfer bus available for Toyako or Toya station. The service was outstanding with very friendly staff. The food was excellent, but quite expensive without options nearby! The bar was quaint and relaxing at the end of the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. We didn't utilise the spring or spa services but would recommend this hotel for that special celebration or decadent indulgence!

Such a hidden gem! We stayed two nights at the resort. The view is breathtaking and the food is supreme. All facilities are well maintained and staff are very friendly.

Would have been nice to be told about dining options before arriving.

Incredible lake view

A beautiful property with breathtaking views! The restaurants on the property, especially all the Japanese restaurants were amazing, and with exceptional service! Every staff we encountered were attentive, courteous, and professional. The best we’ve experienced in a long time.

The bath was not great. Food is too expensive and there’s nothing in the walking distance

The Windsor is a 5-star

All are perfect but the dinner buffer seems a bit too less variety of food but with extremely high price. In addition, it is disappointed that the outdoor public onsen place is alternative by gender day by day

Hotel is huge with more than 200 rooms, no Japanese onsen feel. We ate at the “Out of Africa” restaurant , food was tasty but service was not attentive at all. The main course was served without cutlery. Wine was not refilled automatically. Room is big but decor looks like hotels in USA.

From the moment you stepped into the hotel, it feels like you are in a whole new world. Service staff were very welcoming and check in process was very smooth. The room we got had an amazing view overseeing the Lake Toya. The hotel provided shuttle service for the fireworks boat show at Lake Toya which included a drink at the bar on the second floor. The views around the hotel’s compound were spectacular. We managed to get the opportunity to try out the golf cart sightseeing tour around the compound which offered spectacular views (e.g. Lake Toya, Sea view, City view). This is a must visit hotel whenever anyone pays a visit to Lake Toya. We also gave the hotel’s room service a go when we decided to have breakfast in the room. The food arrived on time and it was pleasantly scrumptious. Check out process was quick and hotel staff were once again extremely helpful and assisted us with our luggages promptly. Would definitely be paying a visit to Windsor Hotel Toya again in the near future to enjoy the spectacular views around the hotel and the excellent services provided by the hotel staff.

Spectacular and beautiful venue, matched by the outstanding cuisine @ Michel Bras restaurant. Breakfast venue and selection delightful. Sunset and sunrise beautiful- and very warming.
