Very hot in the hotel. No aircon. Staff are all poker faced… feel like going back to soviet era

great location, but the plugging ports in room are too few.

I stayed in Grand Tien Shan Hotel for 4 nights and I found the staff are quite friendly to help, it is also in good location in the city, easy to catch Metro at Almaly. Nevertheless, the lift is a little bit slow reacting sometimes, one could wait for more than a minute for a lift that only moves betwween 1st to 3rd floors.

Near metro, Hotel breakfast really good. Staff professional and kind.

We stayed on the ground floor away from the road and it was really quiet. The breakfast was ok for a small hotel. We found the hotel comfortable.We did have a safe problem, which wasn’t fixed, but we did only stay 2 nights.

There is a big problem which is actually everywhere.Language problem...In this kind of hotel at least a few stuff must talk other latin language English, Spanish , Italian etc.It is definitly most important thing.

Arranged an airport transfer with the hotel before I travelled and when I left. Both excellent. Communication superb. Booked a single room which was more than spacious enough for a single traveller. Very comfortable bed and bottles of water delivered daily. Bathroom and shower more than adequate. There was a small room on my floor where guests could iron their clothes. Ask reception for the location and it'll save you packing a portable iron. The cooked element of breakfast was middling but there was plenty of other options available (cold meats, cheese, porridge, fruit, yoghurts etc). Wifi very much up to scratch. Had no problems with emails and using Spotify. Had a very pleasant stay here.

Nice hotel, very clean and well looked after. Restaurant was good, and very good pool/spa facilities. Staff were polite and helpful. Excellent central location and nice safe area (solo woman traveler). Air conditioning did not work very well, would have given 5 stars otherwise.

The property has a European charm and is at close proximity to popular cafes/parks/stores/tourist attractions. However in summer time (April) the air-conditioning wasn't as effective in our room.

Had a good stay here. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. I didn’t use the spa facilities but I was given a tour and they looked fantastic. A shame I didn’t have enough time to partake. Breakfast was ok. I found the room very warm and needed to open the window during -15c to cool down a bit. The radiators didn’t seem to be adjustable.

I mean got the job done overall but probably the worst hotel breakfast I may have ever had

The staff is very helpful and location very central but the property itself is very old and outdated and in need of serious refurbishment.

We booked 2 rooms and stayed for 2 nights. Checkin was swift and our first impression was good. However, there were serious lapses in terms of service: 1. The reception offered us packed breakfast box as we have a tour following morning before the breakfast starts (at 6am) but they forgotten to make the arrangement with the restaurant 2. We left our luggages with the hotel after checkout and there were no luggage tag and they did not take note of number of pieces. When we retrieved our luggages later, they left out one piece until we went in to the storage room to identify our missing luggage 3. We left a charger and powerbank in the room, and we asked about it 3 hours later, we have to go to different floors to hunt the housekeeping staff to retrieve our items 4. There is no one at the reception counter most of the time when we have questions or requests

Very comfortable stay. Room was a little warm, had to open the window resulting in significant traffic noise. Good breakfast. Great staff.
