I recently stayed at the Novotel City Centre for work, and both the hotel and its location were excellent. Unfortunately, I was overcharged by a taxi driver upon arrival at the airport, who demanded 40,000 KZT for a ride that should have cost only 10,000 KZT.
However, a member of the hotel staff, Adil, went above and beyond to assist me. He promptly reviewed the hotel’s CCTV footage, identified the taxi involved, and contacted the taxi company on my behalf. Thanks to his intervention, the driver returned to the hotel and refunded 30,000 KZT directly to reception.
Adil’s professionalism, initiative, and dedication to guest service were outstanding, and he should be sincerely congratulated for his efforts. This experience truly restored my faith in customer care.

Descent property. We were booked three rooms. We had requested a late checkout for 1400h. It was agreed to. However, on the day, front desk & house keeping repeatedly started calling from 1200h , asking to check out immediately. Extremely rude behaviour. Need a few lessons in customer interaction.

Tried to check in early. They made us wait 3 hours, then let us check in early, but charged us a full nights stay! Why make us wait if you’re going to charge for the night before?! Hotel itself was nothing special. AC didn’t get very cold. I wouldn’t stay here again.

After a few years going backwards, it seems this hotel took a new air (management) and is going back on track. The location is ideal, yet, they have to do something with the car entrance. On weekends the small street leading to the hotel is used as a parking lot for the theater beside and the cable car facility. Thus, it's a battle to go in or out (taxis needed to get us down one block away).
