Truly 5* dining!

A little further out from Malé (50 minutes seaplane flight), COMO Maalifushi lies on a small 800 meters island. It is a human size property of about 60 villas and suites, some of them on the water. We spent 10 days on a water suite with 2 kids (family of 4), half board. We stayed there late July, a bit before the summer break boom, and before the "high season" (December to March), which gave us the opportunity to be on the island in a low occupancy time of the year. The staff was simply outstanding, we were truly treated like privileged guests. The amenities are top of the game, from a pristine spa, to the bar and 2 restaurants, it was just perfect, surrounded by a local reef with plenty of marine life. Our water suite was easily suitable for our family of 4, about 110 m2 (1200 sq feet), the layout was perfectly designed, with a superb deck featuring a private pool and direct access to the ocean, we enjoyed snorkeling directly from our private deck. The property is small, but it's easy to get around with the bikes provided to each guest. The kid's club has amazing activities for the younger ones. Activities for guests include snorkeling, diving (5 stars PADI dive center), kayaking, sport fishing etc. There is really nothing negative to say about this resort which, in my mind, ranks easily among the top 10 in the Maldives.

Some pluses and minuses: The island and resort are beautiful with lovely beaches, excellent snorkeling, and friendly staff. We stayed in an overwater bungalow that was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful outdoor area and plunge pool. We loved the homemade bath products which smelled and felt great. Our one issue with the bungalow, which was a big one, was that the air conditioning didn’t work properly. We had it on the highest/coolest it could go and were still sleeping without covers and sweating during the night. They came several times to “fix” it and they always left saying it was working correctly, but it was never repaired. We were extremely disappointed by this given the amount we were paying. The food was hit and miss. There were some delicious dishes and some bad ones. We had a $22 chocolate mouse that was essentially two spoonfuls of chocolate jello pudding. The fish dishes were excellent. The restaurants always felt extremely crowded and the food/drink service at beach and pool was very poor. They offered some fun tours, but we sadly weren’t able to do any of them. We actually chose the resort because they offered a whale shark excursion that looked fun, and we even messaged the resort a month in advance to try to book it, but were told we could only book upon arrival. On arrival we were put on a waiting list and, despite the tour operating nearly every night (sometimes twice), we never got called to do it (despite checking in with them daily).

Great stay with a complementary room upgrade. Nice facilities and food. Great snorkeling around the house reef. Nice yoga in the morning. A bit of a mosquito problem around the room during evening/night - but its a tropical island, so I guess its hard to avoid.

Amazing honeymoon at Como. Could not have asked for more luxury or 5 star treatment. The rooms were gorgeous and the staff was always going the extra mile for us. Every restaurant was delicious and I especially enjoyed the breakfast menu on the daily. Wish we could go back every year.

كانت إقامة رائعة بس الفيلا مافيها خصوصيه 100/100 سوآ الفيلا اللي على الشاطئ أو الفيلا اللي على المحيط المسبح مكشوف والفيلا اللي على الشاطي فيه وزغ صفير بس اللي على المحيط نظيفه ويوجد بها مطعمين وبار وشكر خاص لمدير المطعم مصطفى كان متعاون جدا وزبطنا في الأكل

Just returned from a wonderful 14 day stay at Como. This is our 3rd time traveling to the Maldives; however, our first time there with a child. Como had a fantastic kids club that allowed my husband and I to enjoy time with and without our 5 yr old daughter. We stayed in an overwater villa (number 320) and the room was amazing. We were at the very end of the jetty so had great unobstructed views of the ocean. I would highly recommend requesting one of the villas further out from the island as the current is quite strong on the villas closer to the island. I reviewed the resort map prior to arrival and requested a few different villa numbers we preferred and they were able to accommodate. One thing to note that I hadn't read in a prior review. The beach area wasn't the best as the sand had a lot of broken coral and not super soft. They have also a lot of sand bags in the water maybe to protect the island? I expected better sand and beach than what we saw. Also wanted to note - while the beach villas were beautiful; however, they are more of a jungle/tropical feel and very shaded; you can't see the ocean from them.

Service is not as good as other como locations. Staff are not very attentive

We stayed at Maalifushi for our honeymoon and we loved this place! The food was very, very good though slightly pricey. But it was all worth it. We stayed in an overwater suite which had its own private pool. Service was impeccable and staff never failed to greet and ask how's everything for us. We love the bicycles which we could rent for free. Our stay, though short, was very enjoyable. Thanks for making our honeymoon a memorable one!

I came here last week for my honeymoon vacation. This hotel is super nice and big. All you can eat breakfast which come with your package every morning. Stuffs are very friendly. Food is great and fantastic. Unforgettable memories for me and my husband.

Maalifushi by Como is a decision you will not regret. We had the most amazing and unforgettable time and miss the island and their staff terribly. The downside be warned will be the holiday blues that is inevitable for a long time after! The rooms, amenities, food, service, private access to the beach, the extras, the detail placed into the customer experience were truly fantastic. We miss waking up in luxury, riding our complementary bikes casually towards Madi for breakfast, for which there is the most amazing food and views. Tai is also exceptionally great not only in terms of their food but also the service the staff provide there. Then soaking up the sun via your own private access to the beach. Enjoying complementary yoga sessions on the open air, over water yoga pavillion with the sea breeze and stunning views. I could go on but should leave you to discover yourself through your own experience of the Island.
