everything was right and OK

The food was awful. The staff was very unaccomedating. We were there for a wedding, asked nicely for a few helpful things for the bridal party and there was zero help. Minor things, asked for an extra chair for hair and make up in the room, that was a no. Asked for our bridal group dinners to be put together, that was a no. Asked the concierge to make our dinner reservations for us. Said the only thing she had available was at 9:45 yet when we asked the restaurant they put us in at 7pm. The rooms were very clean. No servers for the beach. They rushed our dinner the night of the wedding. Had us to our speeches during our meals, and then took away our plates unfinished during the speeches. Specifically mine when I was making a speech I came back to a plate of half eaten food gone. Disappointed. Would not go back

Its always a welcoming and great time here, we come every year and never get disappointed. Alot of activities to do for the kids and grown ups. It was children day on April 30th and they had a big show full of activities for all kids at the Barcelo Palace. To mention the Coco Bar was awsome any drink you can ask for they have it and they take the time to make it with perfection. Pools and the beach are soo clean and well maintained. Staff very friendly they make you feel you home.

Barcelo Maya is a wonderful place to stay. Very beautiful, clean, well maintained and staff is very polite. I really enjoyed my stay. The pools were amazing, beach was clean and the bar services were awesome. The buffet was very good. Being a vegetarian, they had good options and their chef customized pizza as per our request. Loved the place with so much to do. Will definitely stay there next time too.

it’s really good

Overall a wonderful stay!! We have been to this property in the past and it is amazing that it is kept as clean and updated as they have! The small areas for improvement: there are many tiles and surfaces in the pool that need fixing. I realize it would put it out of commission for a week or more so not sure how to correct that! Also, we were in the last room of the second building and it had some tired spots in the washroom needing attention. Overall, the food, staff and location are outstanding!! One negative about other guests… many feed the turtles bananas… this is not healthy for them and is making them aggressive One (Darwin award winner ) got her finger bitten while holding a piece of banana… Karma .. :-) Wildlife should be seen and appreciated.. not fed or touched as this can cause damage to them.

Wonderful experience. Just wish buffets offered more of a selection throughout the week. After day 4 the food tastes like not good.

One of the best resort in Mexico

Property was outstanding! Was a little frustrated with the fact we couldn’t get reservations we wanted for our large group of family and friends. Otherwise it was an outstanding resort!!!

Everything about this resort was top notch. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food at the buffet was repetitive but delicious none the less. The rooms were well maintained, minor upgrades required. Loved the experience alltogether and I would definitely go again!

Beautiful resort but the food isn’t good. The buffet food just isn’t what you’d expect from a 5 star resort. We went to La Brasserie dining restaurant which was superb but La Fuente restaurant was poor. I ordered the traditional paella and it was just yellow rice topped with shrimp. And the shrimp had no taste.

Our family loves this place, everything was amazing

I loved the restaurants and the beautiful seaside walking paths. The whole resort was extremely well-maintained and clean, and the service everywhere was excellent. I will definitely be back soon.

Stayed at many resorts along the Mayan Riviera in the past 20 years and this is easily in our top 3. Would definitely come back. Pool, Beach, and food were great. This is an extremely large resort (actually 6 resorts combined). The bus was OK to get around but would prefer they also add carts as wait times were sometimes fairly long. Had VIP access which IMO should include more free or greatly reduced activity charges like for the water park, bowling, or go carts instead of having to pay extra for them.

Worst place we have ever stayed. The staff at the front desk are so incompetent. They took two hours to check us in with screaming kids. There are tons of hidden extras fees. There is no transportation included from the airport. The food was never fresh. The entertainment was TERRIBLE or non-existent and there were zero activities for kids besides the pool.

Resort was great! One of the best I have been to and would highly recommend. Only downside was that people would wake up in the middle of the night and put towels on the chairs so that they were already all reserved before 6am.
