El personal del hotel súper mega amables y excelentemente ubicado. Solo la cama no era tan cómoda pero todo lo demás sin objeción alguna. A parte está muy bonito el lugar. Totalmente recomendable.

We loved this small hotel!! The best features were the LOCATION, the AMAZING staff, and the cool and relaxing courtyard and grounds. We stayed in the largest suite but got to see into the some other rooms and felt they all seemed lovely although smaller than our room, but with the beautiful common spaces and the lovely Centro of Merida on your doorstep any room would be a positive experience at this lovely boutique hotel! We liked our room on the second floor with the relaxing shared sitting area outside and did not mind the one flight of stairs to access. We were close walking distance from everything and it felt easy to come back to the room as needed throughout the day or to enjoy an afternoon siesta in the heat of the afternoon! It felt very safe to walk the streets in the Centro area even late at night with the Calle 60 being closed weekend nights for pedestrians only and plentiful crowds in the public squares and local bars (with lots of live music, different vibes (Trova, salsa, jazz, contemporary, etc), and even dancing at some locations). There are locations very close by for a party vibe if that interests you (with music audible on select weekend evenings from the courtyard of the hotel but reasonably dampened within the rooms. Ear plugs were available if needed. The bed was comfortable. Pool and bath towels were provided. Hot water was available but ran out quickly, in less than 2 minutes so shower quickly. That’s the only issue. We would have stayed longer.

A wonderful boutique hotel, with lovely large, airy rooms with authentic period features and a chilled vibe, yet only four blocks (less than 10 minutes’ walk) to Plaza Grande. The staff are great - Carla was especially friendly and helpful, with lots of great suggestions for sights, walking tours, restaurants and bars. Great breakfast too - with a different choice of authentic Mexican main course la every day. Parking is around the corner, safe and easy to access.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Tavera. We stayed for 6 nights. The staff at the hotel are amazing. All are very friendly and accommodating. My husband had a fall and needed Medical attention. They were so helpful and kind. The rooms are quite large. It’s a very private accommodation with a small number if rooms which makes it quite special. It’s a boutique hotel in a great area. The breakfasts were delicious. A different selection each day. It’s close to all the attractions yet on a street that is away from the commotion. There is live music close by including a great jazz bar with reasonable prices for drinks/food. If you like to try different/local food there are lots of choices nearby. All in all I would definitely pick Casa Travera for a visit to Merida.

La entrada fue bastante mal ya que nos dieron una habitación sin ventanas tipo sótano y la que había daba hacia las mesas del desayuno donde no hay privacidad si la dejas abierta. No tiene parking y pague extra por un parking que tenían concertado por unos 250mex. Por nuestra parte no aceptamos esa habitación y en principio no había posibilidad de cambio. Después de decir que nos íbamos se resolvió y nos dieron otra está sí que tenía ventanas y nos devolvieron amablemente el dinero del parking. El desayuno era normal. El WC se atascó dos veces sin tirar papeles y que tuvimos que desatascar nosotros mismos buscando en dos ocasiones el desatascador. En la habitación habían tapones para los oídos lo que nos llamó la atención por la noche habían fiestas locales y hasta las 2 de la mañana con música a tope que no nos dejó dormir. Aunque esto no es culpa del establecimiento lo cierto es que apenas dormimos esas dos noches.

Three star hotel

Casa Tavera is fabulous! The staff here are exceptional, the rooms comfortable, the location is perfect. I would highly recommend Casa Taverna to anyone traveling to Merida.
