Nice hotel but inconvenient location. 30 mins drive to U bein bridge

I decided to spend my birthday and the New Year’s Eve at this hotel and I booked the suite. Unfortunately at my arrival I understood that the most expensive room was just wider and it was not luxury as expected, especially when sold at 180 €/night, one of the most expensive in Mandalay. The staff was extremely kind and changed my room the next day for a better one, which I could book for almost half of the price, they also partially compensated inviting us for dinner and taking care of our dirty laundry. But the deal was no exciting for our expectations. Excellent rooftop for sunset Location is not excellent to to visit the city and neighbourhood is creepy.

The Hotel overall, the staff, the quality of the food, the room, the pool, and of course, the rooftop sky bar, were great. The sunset view is amazing and you'll struggle to find a better view over the river in Mandalay. As far as value for money goes, I cannot fault the hotel at all, especially the wonderful staff!! The only (very minor) down side was the surrounding area; the dredging of the river over the road, the fish market down the street. Locals told me its not the safest area at night, or most aesthetically pleasing area... especially if you dont like fish! Having said that, that's a reality of Myanmar that we came to see, so we didn't mind. We took taxi's/tuk-tuks out to see the sights. The hotel itself is great, but be aware it's location may not be to everyone's taste.

Ho prenotato due camere con balcone, ma ce ne hanno assegnata solo una, dicendo che l'altra non era disponibile. Non ci hanno nemmeno rimborsato la differenza di prezzo che ci spetterebbe, avendoci assegnato una stanza senza balcone. Poi c'è stato un blackout elettrico e l'ascensore non ha funzionato per più di 24 ore, costringendoci a fare più volte 5 piani di scale. L'ubicazione dell'albergo è nella zona del lungofiume, in teoria, ottima, in pratica, nella peggiore zona della città.

L’environnement est terriblement misérable, mais toute la ville pratiquement est ainsi : pagodes d’or et terrible pauvreté.

Room was ok but spacious, food was ok, view of the Irrawaddy River was great, a bit dark having dinner making it hard to see what you avtually ate, the location itself was a bit off in regards to city sights, opt for booking a tour

Terrific hotel for the price. Staff continually going out of their way to help. Clean and good services. Loved the rooftop restaurant.

The hotel staff here is one of the best in the world. From check in to check out every wish was accommodated with a pleasing smile. The breakfast buffet was excellent and our evening meal on the rooftop terrace was exceptional as well. What a warm welcome to Myanmar!

Everything was fine - except the bathtub leaked and we kept losing wifi connections.

We enjoyed the view on the terrace for the sunset. The staff is very nice. But this hotel isn't the best place to stay in Mandalay because it's getting old now. It's far from downtown, no restaurant outside next to the hotel. The place is very noisy at every hour of the day. So I wouldn't recommend to stay there.

Comfortable room. Good food on rooftop bar with views of the Irrawaddy River. A convenient place to stay to get the boat to Bagan.
