The location was excellent. A few minutes away from metro, bus, tram, train and even a Eurostar rail. The room was huge even by North American standards. The lighting in the room could be better.

Excellent central location, just steps from the central train station. The spacious room for a family of 4 was comfortable and quirky (stairs in the room, window facing other windows). The gym was well appointed and had a sauna.

The room was super noisy on the first floor. Just opposite to a noisy and busy bar. Noises till 2am even on weekdays. They didn't consider us having a child of 11years old.

Hay cuartos que tienen escaleras para ir del baño a la cama (6 escalones) somos personas de 70+ y nos pesó mucho el cuarto. Mi familia iba en otras habitaciones y solo nos asignaron la complicada a los viejos. Hice el reclamo y me trataron muy bien, sugiero se aseguren no les asignen cuartos con escaleras

The hotel does not live up to it's rating. When I arrived I was given a room with scaffolding on the window and not facing the main street as I was expecting. Nothing like opening the blinds to find a construction worker holding a caulking gun. On the plus side they were quick so the entire scaffolding was gone a few days later. The lobby smells ... bad. I'm not sure what's going on but we both noticed the smell over multiple days. The recommended restaurants from the staff were not good, I would call them tourist traps, given the number of restaurants around I would have expected better suggestions. The breakfast at the hotel was good (but expensive). The location was excellent it's a shame the rest of the hotel doesn't live up to it. Am I being harsh, maybe but at these prices and levels I think it's fair to expect a bit more.

I spent a considerable amount of time trying to decide on a hotel for a family of 4. Took weeks to decide. This hotel was truly perfect. The location, size of the family suite, huge bathroom (for Europe). The canals on the side were loud for maybe one hour a night in total and then quiet the rest of the night. We used a sound machine and it was just fine.
My only complaint is that when you have a family suite and you know there are 4 guests, leave 4 towels. We consistently were given 3 towels and then had to call down for the 4th. Which of course they brought no problems. Just a detail thing.
We would stay again. Had the best time in Amsterdam even if it was during the heatwave.
