We had the most amazing 5 night stay at Cliff Edge by the sea with our host Peter who went above and beyond to make our stay an unforgettable one, he is an exceptionally good cook cooking for us 4 out of the 5 nights and the best breakfasts each morning, cereal, fruits nuts, sweet buns, toast, cheeses and cold cuts and of course coffee or tea. We just loved the lodge, beautifully designed and decorated. We really felt welcomed by Peter and very comfortable. Can absolutely recommend to stay here. You will not be disappointed and we do hope to come back for another stay. Thanks you Peter

Overall it is clean and comfortable. The view was amazing, love it. We thought the kitchen can be used but it was not. However, it did not bother us much anyway. There is a shared lounge, feeling like living in a big house :D
Also Thanks for Peter for preparing us the breakfast :)

Absolutely stunning views of the Bay of Islands, great romantic getaway spot. Convenient to Opua and the ferry to Russel, as well as Paihia. Peter and Daniel were great hosts. We enjoyed our time there, you will, too!

The location was a bit off the City center but the view was outstanding, both Peter & Daniel were amazing host, loved the Lounge and Open kitchen ......... breakfast was also truly outstanding with a lot of personal attention....... walk down the hill to an almost secluded seashore in the morning was fun too..would truly recommend for couples or people who are looking out for quality time

Lovely house on cliff edge with fabulous views over the bay. Peter, the owner cooked lovely meals for for us (and other guests) on two evenings; he is a former owner of restaurants in Australia. He is getting a bit tired - and some of the house furnishings felt the same; he has been there for about 15 years, I believe,

Location has amazing views, quiet and away from all the hussle of the tourist centered town nearby. Friendly staff, clean and comprehensive accommodations. Direct access to the coastal trail. Unfortunately the dinner option was unavailable two nights in a row but the breakfast was excellent.

We were amazed at the spectacular views and idyllic location. The room was very comfortable and the facilities, of having access to the entire house was outstanding. Peter, is a very gentle, humble host who went out of his way to make us, the guests comfortable and totally at home.
His out-of-the-way venue is actually very close to the car ferry to Russell and only a 5 minutes drive away from Paihia. We would love to stay there again, given the opportunity and will tell any friends traveling this way, too!

We discovered Cliff Edge as a very welcoming place. Our room had a magnificent and unspoiled view. You can just sit out on your balcony and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Peter the host and Daniel his assitant are very friendly. The location is ideal to travel the Bay of Islands. The bed was very comfortable . The breakfast was good and we we had a wonderful dinner at " home" in the evening, enjoyed the converastione with the other guests.
