Catian beach

Very beautiful almost perfect beach. The beach is very private, not crowded & clean. Ample comfortable lounge bench on the beach. The bed in the room had comfortable mattress & pillows. Breakfast is good. Food at the cafe/shop was acceptable quality and reasonably priced. the place is managed by a local family and friendly with Filipino hospitality. but in reality there are many cons and not everybody will be able to tolerate, so CAVEAT EMPTOR ya... (let the buyer beware) 1. there is only a fan in the room & on top of that the fan can only be switched on from 7pm to 7am. No fan or electricity during the day except for the limited light bulbs 2. there are no electric plug points in the room. which means you cannot charge your phone or camera or whatever equipment. 3. the only place that has plug points is at the cafe/shop and you can ONLY charge your devices from 7pm to 9pm which means it's implied you have to eat there. 4. there are a lot of mosquito and sand flies. inside the room they provide a mosquito net over the bed but you're still gonna get bitten when you're out of your room which you will be 90% of the time. Unfortunately the shop does not sell any repellent or alcohol and therefore I think I had more than 100 bites all over my legs & hands and the itch was for over a week after the holiday. Be sure to buy repellent or alcohol or both BEFORE you get there as the town of El Nido is 45 mins away drive. 5. you get the best beach and away from crowdedness but you're 45 minutes away from town where the good restaurants are. 6. the bathroom and facilities are very basic and the water I think is pumped from an underground well and water to bathe wash etc was murky. in fairness I enjoyed the beach experience because the place is right smack literally on the beach, but I will not go back because of the limited facilities. my recommendation to the property is that there must be minimum a fan and electrical outlet in the room 24 hours, without this basic stuff I felt I was in a primitive environment.
