Shops were a distance, but each time I needed to go to the shops, a grab was easy to get thanks to Manager Bryan. As every suburban stay, there will be roosters waking you early morning...that was only let down. I liked it otherwise.cheers Eric

Location far from stores and reachable through a narrow path... but personnel very attentive via phone...

Meine dritte Mal Übernachtung hier in Mactan Hostel, und ich bin immer noch absolut zufrieden! Dieses Hostel ist ein echtes Juwel. Die Atmosphäre ist entspannt und einladend, das Personal ist superfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind sauber und komfortabel, Egal ob für eine Nacht oder länger – ich fühle mich jedes Mal willkommen und gut aufgehoben. Die Lage ist ebenfalls ideal, und alles, was man braucht, ist in der nähe Absolut empfehlenswert für alle, die eine unkomplizierte und angenehme Unterkunft auf Mactan suchen!

Rooms are very small. The neighborhood is a remote. The gentleman who we interacted was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. I would recomend it as a low budget no frills place to stay.

Ich hatte einen fantastischen Aufenthalt im Mactan Hostel, vor allem angesichts des erschwinglichen Preises! Das Hostel bietet ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis - saubere Zimmer, hilfsbereites Personal , close to the Mactan International Airport and Mactan Shrine. Für den Preis, den ich bezahlt habe, habe ich keinen 5-Sterne-Luxus erwartet, aber ich habe alles gefunden, was ich für einen komfortablen Aufenthalt brauchte. Mir ist aufgefallen, dass einige Bewertungen mehr erwarten, aber für ein Budget-Hostel, denke ich, dass es genau das liefert, was man sich erhoffen würde. Wenn Sie nach einem Ort suchen, an dem Sie sich ausruhen, andere Reisende treffen und die Gegend erkunden können, ohne die Bank zu sprengen, ist dies eine großartige Option!"

I don't even know where to begin, as a Retiree & US Navy Veteran having traveled to some of the poorest places in Mexico the past 25yrs which has tons of loud roosters btw, the Mactan Hostel takes the Gold Medal of a totally disgusting DUMP! After our Grab taxi from the airport takes us down this pathetic back road off the main highway to where the Mactan Hostel was located down a narrow filthy alleyway, my girlfriend & I walked down towards where the entrance of the "Hostel" yet a very deceptive set of well-appointed private room pictures was located. Inundated with what can only be described as a "Rooster Farm" with crowing from dozens of hyped up roosters going nuts in the middle afternoon, we found the nearly unidentifiable entrance sign & gate to a 2 story apartment building. After a local Filipino gentleman appeared from around the corner identifying himself as "Brian" brother of the "Mactan Hostel" owner, I walked inside the gate & looked down the ground floor set of doors and started walking up the side stairs to the 2nd floor of the building, there was a 3/4 full quart bottle of beer sitting at the top of the steps and another series of doors, I immediately turned around went downstairs, told my girlfriend & Brian "there's ABSOLUTELY NO WAY we are staying here!" Brian said "NO problem my brother will give you a Full Refund", he lied or misspoke I was offered only a 1/2 refund - total BS Especially these other joke "Excellent Reviews" AVOID OR REGRET IT!

Our host Brian was the best, if your wanting to stay at a place like in the USA this is not for you, if your looking to stay in a true Philippines setting this is your place. I loved it and will be going back in November for another two weeks. Remember this is not the Hilton, Brian you made our vaca a true vaca, THANK YOU

I had a wonderful time there. The room offers you a lot for your needs. Also a coffee machine. The bed is comfortable. The personnel is very friendly and offer you a lot of help and support for your needs and you can easily contact them.
