The Peninsula loves up to its reputation as a 5 star establishment in the heart of Makati. The lobby showcases Filipino hospitality as its finest from service to presentation and food.
Lovely room with good linens and turn down service.
Centrally located and walkable to restaurants. Don’t miss the shops and bakery on lower level
Have visited The Pen for over 40 years and it never disappoints.

The lobby was grand but the room was dated despite it being a grand room (which was a VIP upgrade) but no different from the original room booked. Excellent breakfast selections and all the fresh coconut water you can drink. The seafood buffet was great too.

The only drawback to the Peninsula before was that the neighborhood wasn’t great. While I loathe to thank the Ayalas, they deserve a lot of credit for refreshing the area.
Other 5-star hotels might be cheaper and their rooms might be “modernized” but even in that comfort, you’ll miss the comfortable grandiosity of The Pen.
I must also acknowledge that the hotel has a lot of foreigners (and more than a few must be new money Filipinos) who behave with embarrassing entitlement. Sigh. Be extra kind to the staff to make up for these [x].
