Great hotel!

Great stay! Awkward placement for the TV but we moved it. Overall a lovely experience.

Adorable historic boutique hotel! Recently renovated with a fantastic location on the Duro river and a nice breakfast. Be aware… the property is NOT staffed after 10 pm. So check in earlier than that. We checked in late in the day and needed to wait outside for the staff member to come to the property. We were a little thrown off by that. Think of it like a cross between a boutique hotel and an AirBnB! Once she got there we settled in and had a great experience. Staff during working hours is very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

What a lovely small hotel. Bruna was incredible, best service one could imagine. Room 4 looked out over the river with a sweet balcony and an so comfortable bed. Great breakfast and wonderful location as you can walk to most places. Cannot recommend it enough.

This property is right on the river in an excellent location near lots of great restaurants, shops and excursions. The room was just as described, the bed was comfortable and the view was wonderful. The staff were great and the breakfast was very good. We had a few glitches at no fault of the property and they took responsibility and made our stay pleasant as possible. The parking is difficult in this area so if you can arrive without a car, that is best. We highly recommend it.

Do not book this one. The staff was amateur and did not even know the price of the hotel. I was almost overcharged. The aircon is down and the hotel used temporary one which was inconvenient. The service was slow to response. The customers waited so long to have the answer for simple questions.

Second day breakfast was probably worst of any B&B we stayed at. First day was much better. Not a good note to leave on…

The location was excellent. We had booked a room with a city view but all we saw was an alley. Staff were very nice and we had our laundry done for 30 euros! The breakfast was good but if you wanted eggs etc it was an extra fee which was not obvious. Area was noisy at night. Overal a nice stay in Porto.

Staying at the 1872 River House was, hands down, one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. Nestled right on the banks of the Douro River, this charming boutique hotel perfectly blends historic character with modern elegance. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality that felt more like visiting old friends than checking into a hotel. The location is unbeatable — just a short walk to Ribeira Square, yet peaceful enough to escape the tourist buzz. Our room had a view straight out of a postcard: floor-to-ceiling windows opened onto the river, and we spent every morning sipping coffee while watching the boats drift by. It was magical.

This small boutique hotel has rooms right on the Douro River. The view was amazing! Located in the historic old town, it was convenient to walk everywhere. The room and bathroom were large and roomy, and the bed and linens were comfortable. Breakfast included was very good, with many fresh fruits, breads, and eggs to order.

Wonderful view from our riverside room with a very comfortable bed. The staff were efficient and obliging, with a freshly prepared breakfast provided each day. Easy walking distance up into the city, and close to the bridge to cross to the other bank of the river. There were two minor negative points. It wasn't easy to use the key to leave the property, plus it seems over the top - why not have a button next to the door? And directions to reach the property could be simplified - our taxi driver from the airport had no idea where the place was. All we needed was to be told in advance was to be dropped at the taxi rank outside McDonalds, simple as that.

Ótimo atendimento feito pela Bruna na chegada. Depois fomos atendido pela Iola e Paula, que deram um show! Adoramos esse hotel.

Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Fresh breakfast every morning in the common area overlooking the river. Room was extremely comfortable overlooking the river and Gaia. Beautiful facility along the river in historic Porto.
