Excellent location, extremely friendly front desk staff, clean and functional rooms and facilities. Don't count on roof-top swimming pool if you plan to actually swim.

Great hotel in Funchal, Madeira. Location, restaurants, rooftop pool (very busy) has great views.

Mooie accommodatie in centrum. Mooi centraal. Parkeren is wel een probleem.

Great location and breakfast buffet. The staff was really wonderful and the rooftop pool area was a nice bonus with excellent views of Funchal.

Wonderful and lovely place in the center of Funchal. The hotel entrance is a bit hidden, but you can enter from the restaurant. Overall i recommend.

Parfait. En centre ville et près de la mer. Ascenseur. Piscine sur le toit. Excursions à prix raisonnable en vente à l’hôtel. Petit déjeuner très varié et de bonne qualité. Réceptionniste présent 24h/24. Literie très confortable. Silencieux

Een mooi, net en nieuw hotel met een zwembad op het dak. Geweldig! In het centrum van Funchal en dichtbij de zee. Echt een aanrader.

Nice Hotel, lovely rooms , friendly reception staff and breakfast staff good breakfast , great location . Lovely Rooftop pool but was let down by a young man running it that clearly needs training on the service and approach you expect of a 5 star hotel . As an example I ordered a drink and his first response was how are you paying for that , Lovely! . Just made us feel like an inconvenience in general the couple of days we visited and didn’t treat anybody any differently. I would also suggest they try a put a bit of vibrancy the hotel , no background music by the pool and the bar was literally empty every night. Both these experiences would put us off staying again

Skønt hotel med svimmingpool på tagteressen. Rart værelse med udsigt over byen. Dejlig morgenmad. Var forundret og restaurantens ringe besøg i forhold til naborestauranters fulde huse. Super central beliggenhed.

Flott hotel midt i gamlebyen, kan ikke få det mer sentralt i Funchal. Veldig greit å kunne låne parkeringskort til parkeringshall (10euro, pr døgn) når en har leiebil.

The hotel was ok. The staff were friendly and informative. However, the lighting in both the room and about the hotel was dreadful. I had to choose a breakfast table beneath a spotlight to see my breakfast- not good at all. Why was everywhere so dim?

Super convenient and picturesque spot right in the heart of old town Funchal and within walking distance of marina, shops, restaurants and cable car. Lovely rooftop with views over town and marina with bar and small (heated) pool. Breakfast great but eating area not so charming - might have been better using restaurant at front of hotel for more space and light. We stayed in deluxe room city view at front of hotel and were pleasantly surprised by small balcony with sea views - the only downside of this was live music outside noisy if you wanted an early night !!! Overall very glad we stayed here rather than in built up soulless tourist area on other side of marina.

Fantastic location and recently renovated rooms.

Located in the heart of the old town,The Barcelo funchal is a truly wonderful hotel with great views over the city from its roof gardens.The staff are very polite and helpful and the dining facilities were top class. Highly recommended
