Staff were attentive and friendly, and the hotel had good facilities, and was very clean. I would have appreciated a fridge in the room, as I travel on a budget, and often buy food for late night snacks or a quick breakfast, and the carpet was clean, but due to be replaced. Clearer information about the amenities on the website or in the room or elevators (great that there is a pool -- but where? Hours?) would have been useful. The area around the hotel is clean and safe, but a bit bland; apart from a few buildings I could have been in any country in Europe. Transit options for getting into the centre of Porto or out to the beach and aquarium were close to the hotel, but unreliable as far as the bus schedule was concerned. Given the excellent service, comfortable room, and reasonable price, I would very happily recommend this hotel to family and friends or stay there again myself -- but I would allow a little more time to get to the old city (or take a taxi -- very inexpensive). Also, don't miss the roof bar! I only went on my last night, and really regretted not having gone sooner.

Not a bad hotel but not 5 star ! Too far away from the central parts where everyone wants to be. Hotel a bit dated and worn in the rooms . Stained carpets etc.. but comfortable enough. Terrible service at the bar on the top floor . Ordered a cocktail and the bar went walkabout then served 2 women first ! 20 min wait . Top tip ? stay some where closer to the centro

My stay at Porto Palácio Hotel was truly exceptional. The service was warm and professional, the room elegant and comfortable, and the views from the rooftop bar were unforgettable. I especially appreciated the relaxing sauna steam room and jacuzzi and the hotel’s perfect balance of luxury and convenience. The breakfast buffet was amazing, it has everything you need and staff on hand were extremely friendly and accommodating. A beautiful experience I’d happily repeat.

Lovely hotel, approx 50min walk from the centre. Nice restaurants close including a good Indian Mendi. Hotel well furnished, rooftop bar, spa, etc. very nice place to stay, staff are amazing. Would definitely stay again

A lovely hotel, with very helpful attentive staff. Rooftop bar and restaurant on the nineteenth floor. I didn’t get chance to use the Spa but it looked lovely. The Hotel is in a very safe area with good restaurants close by. Porto is a big City so it’s a 50 minute walk from the River and main area, but taxis are cheap and readily available.

Room was disappointing and felt in need of a deep clean owing to the stains on floor and walls (exploding drink came to mind). Rest of the hotel was excellent and food fantastic at rooftop restaurant. Stayed elsewhere in Porto for rest of trip and better quality and value in other hotel.

Loved the roof top bar

We booked an executive twin room and were told on arrival that we had been upgraded from that room (which would have been on the 10th, 11th or 12th floor) to Room 1706 near the top of the hotel, with a fantastic view out over Porto to the Douro River and even a little piece of the Atlantic Ocean. The room was extremely quiet and very comfortable (although the pillows could use an upgrade). The internet connection was out our first night, so neither TV nor wifi worked, but we told the desk staff about it when we went out our first morning and it was fixed by the time we got back. Breakfast was very nice, served in a very large room, with lots of choices (including port and sparkling wine!) and specialty coffees available by order. The hotel is not centrally located, but metro stops are within walking distance and the metro is very easy to use, and taxis (inexpensive by US standards) easily got us to train stations for day trips and to the airport for departure.

Hotel itself is superb, but it is good for business , away from tourist attractions, no restaurants nearby , taxis, Uber or Bolt are the best way to to travel..

Le personnel est très sympathique, la chambre était très propre, le roof top juste magique. Cependant on remarque facilement que l'établissement se fait vieux (arrangement de la salle de bain, style de la chambre, piscine, jacuzzi,...) bien que parfaitement entretenu (rien de détérioré) et propre, un rafraîchissement ne ferait pas de mal
