Beautiful location on the water. Nice grounds in a historic fort. Walkable to city attractions if you’re in good health and don’t mind hills. Onsite restaurant was good.

The fort was amazing! Staff was great. Room was clean and great views! Walking distance to town and marina. Breakfast included.

Super location close to centre, and garden and pool are lovely. Staff super nice and friendly, and good value for money. But the hotel is tired, and the restaurant/bar service is poor. Not enough staff, not properly trained. Service slow due to lack of staff/training. This could be a €300 a night hotel but it needs some upgrading and more professional staff

As always, we like to stay straight in the castle - without compromises in regards to rooms, service and so on. All for a very reasonable price, still our favorite on the island!

É a segunda vez que me hospedo neste magnífico hotel, localizado dentro do Forte de São Sebastião, imponente fortaleza do século XVI, onde funciona também o excelente restaurante Castelinho, com pratos refinados da culinária portuguesa. Gosto tanto daqui que pretendo hospedar-me novamente na Pousada.

Inside an old fort which was cool. Right on ocean so an amazing view from rooms. Staff spoke English well. Restaurant was very good.

The old fort is very cool and the staff was amazing. Bar and restaurant were a good value. Easy walk down to the harbor then up to the city. My only issue with the property was the bed. Not the most comfortable mattress and on a cheap wooden frame that sticks out too far. Jammed my toe three separate time.

Nice location but some maintenace would be welcome. And it cannot be that at 17:00 the rooms are still not cleaned with the excuse (at that time) that the staff went for lunch (if check-in is at 15:00, we were expecting all rooms to be ready at that time). And if you have a 24/7 desk, then make sure someone is there and not having breakfast...

This hotel was beautiful. The property was very clean. The rooms were great. The breakfast was a 10/10. The dinner was great. The hotel staff was friendly and super helpful as this was our first time to the island, they gave us tons of info of where to go to eat/shop/etc. I cannot wait to go back.

Not your average hotel with an industrial flair. Perfect decor for a fort. I slept so well I didn't want to leave....

Probably the most scenic hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere. Great breakfast and staff. Highly recommend this historic and beautiful hotel.
