We loved this hotel for our honeymoon! The pools and beach setups are amazing- very good service from setting up chairs and serving food/drinks. The lobby bars and casino are fun at night, it’s very lively on the weekend! We ate at the beach club and Cana and really enjoyed everything we had. I agree with other reviewers that the rooms could use an update. The hotel also touts its eco friendliness but doesn’t have anywhere collecting compostable material (so they just go to the regular garbage).

From checking in to checking out the service was outstanding. Every aspect was exactly what I needed from a vacation. Receptionists, where warm and welcoming, servers and bartenders were so helpful sharing recommendations of things to do. Amazing overall!

I hate giving it a 3 star, because the property is nice, the beach is beautiful, hotel lobby area excellent. However, the rooms are awful. I paid extra for a patio room which was was on a roof, no view, i mean completely no view. OLD ripped furniture. They need to renovate the room! Every guest I saw was either complaining or getting a room change.

Property is older and its not a traditional Fairmont hotel, its the El San Juan hotel converted into a Fairmont. However, they hallways and rooms have not been updated in ages and you can see there has been water damage to many of the floors, even the bathroom doors are rotting. The common areas are nice, but hotel staff is very slow at providing service. I would rate this a 4 star at best, but I was paying premium 5 star prices. Also resort tax was $200/ day, this is insanity.

Our stay at the Fairmont San Juan was excellent. Room was nice and clean. Hotel facilities where good. Beach was nice. We did have breakfast once during our stay and I think it was overpriced, the food was not that good. Definitely not worth the price we paid. Thankfully there is a Starbucks inside the hotel.

Nice place. Love the lobby and bars. Seems like they put a lot of time into it. Me and my wife were impressed. Separate pools for quiet/loud groups. Beach service and access was top tier. The property needs to do a something different when it comes to distinguishing guests from non-guest because me and my wife were asked if we were guests, SEVERAL times. Going to the pool, beach, back from the beach. It was weird. Other people walk around freely but were questioned BUT CV
