The service is good, even late check in time. The cleaning is good, the room does not smell bad or dusty. There is enough private space for each people. The location is good, walking distance to most tourist spot.

Good location. Bed is clean and comfortable. Bathroom and toilet are clean. Bathroom’s design is very nice. Friendly staffs, they did me a favor to print out my boarding pass. It’s a bit noisy outside, but i could fall asleep without earplugs. Breakfast is satisfying.

Staff are nice. Although it's shared dorm, there is private space for your area. Both beds and toilets are clean. I would suggest this hostel to others looking for hostel in Edinburgh.

Staff are extremely friendly. Spotlessly clean toilets and shower. The location at New Town is good - close to Waverley Station, shopping street (Princes Street) and numerous restaurants nearby (Mussel Inn and Jamies Italian!). A welcoming chocolate is also served on your bed! The breakfast is nice as well where you can make your own waffle using the waffle machine! Beware if you are with a suitcase as there is no lift in the premise and you will need to carry it up the stairs. And as there are restaurants nearby, loud noise will be experienced at night when the restaurants empty their glass bottle bin. The hostel have earplug for you to overcome this.

The top floor apartment is superb and worth a stay, with spacious environment and especially those who like to cook a bit. Extremely convenient location in New City and only thing to remember is not to bring heavy luggage as you have to walk up four floors of steps. But the hostel maanager is a very kind and helpful young man who would offer the assistance to bring your luggage up four floors!

The staff was really helpful. There is no lift and he helped me to carry my luggage to third floor and also recommended me a nice restaurant. The design of the bunk bed is awesome.

Nice location and good quality of accommodation, especially Ben is a kind person who is friendly, helpful, and handsome.

The location is very good, but it is a little noisy especially early morning. The staff is also very friendly. Anyway, it is worth staying here.

Excellent hostel with good facilities and privacy. The design is cozy and modern. Keyless room with your personal code to get in and out the hostel and room (which means you don't have to do anything when check out!). The pod bed layout offers great privacy for your sleeping and each individual has 2 electric sockets and 2 USB plug inside the pod. Personal locker is provided and no need to bring your own lock for the locker. The wifi is fast and stable. Toilet is very neat and tidy. Fully equipped kitchen and breakfast is provided. Just around the corner of Princes Street, very convenient. One little thing is it might be a bit stuffy in the pod at night.

The design of room is special and provide with clean bed and personal privacy which I very appreciated that. Good working wifi is available inside the room. Free breakfast is simple( toast ,jam, cereal...), but you can cook some else yourself.

Just steps away from the Royal Mile and all the exciting tourist landmarks, as well as transit, shops and restaurant/bars. A little apartment with a lovely rooftop deck and kitchenette so we could enjoy some home made meals in between sight-seeing.

Beautiful penthouse apartment with everything I needed, just a few minutes walk from Princes Street.

The staff is really kind and helpful. To be a hostel, it's pretty clean, and they clean once per day. I like that you can cook your own meals. Guests respect everyone's own time, including being quiet in the room no matter the time of day. However, compared to the CoDe court, it is way smaller, has really bad storage for luggage, and needs a renovation/refreshment, and is therefore pretty pricey.

Clean and great staff

Me and my friend, both women, decided to go with The Loft mainly due to pricing and that it seemed cleaned and fresh as well as relatively small rooms which felt safe. Unfortunately, if this location has been very clean and fresh before, we can no longer say that's the case of October 2025. You only get one (1) tiny towel for both body and face, sheets were allegedly clean but I kept finding curly black hairs in mine and lots of dust in my pod (they should make sure to vacuum properly within the pods under the bedding), paper towels were not refilled in the bathroom, and neither was the one towel shared between everyone at that floor. 1 toilet shared between (at least) 12 people of one floor (though I think other people from upper floors could also go to that first floor bathroom, hence "at least"). Showers were dirty and filled with debris (I guess someone thought it was a good idea to wash off their shoes or something?) which was never cleaned despite us requesting additional cleaning (which one could do with a qr code - however one could never write what it actually was that needed cleaning). One of the showers broke down 2 days after so you HAD to use *that* shower. Furthermore, it was advertiesed that they'd have a laundry machine and dryer. However, the dryer (which I severely needed) was broken when we arrived, and kept being broken during the entirety of our stay. We were instead referred to their sister hotel which is a 15 minute (steep) walk from there.

Staff was helpful and accommodating. Facility was clean, excellent location, felt safe and quiet.
