I didn't realize when I booked that this hotel is right by a train station! It is a quick walk, you can see it from the front door, and only two stops to the main attractions in Edinburgh. The staff were lovely, especially the people who worked in the restaurant. All were helpful, attentive, friendly, and engaging. We ate dinner on-site twice and had breakfast included with our stay, so I can comment that the breakfast offered great options, and the dinner items we got were very good.
The only thing I question is why guests had to pay for parking - the hotel doesn't own the lot and does give a discount, but it was still a surprise.
My parents were also traveling in our party, and they had more amenities than we did. My husband and I ended up with one of the disability-equipped rooms (even though we are not disabled). Our room did not include the Nespresso machine, complimentary toiletries, robe/slippers, etc. Not a huge deal overall, but just something to be aware of if you request one of the disability-equipped rooms - be aware that these items are available, but you may need to ask for them if you want them.
