Lovely room with head fire place. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bar/ restaurant had a great selection of food and drinks. Breakfast had a variety of options.

Everything about our stay was perfect !

Room was good, but bathroom was looking dated. WiFi could also be better in terms of speed and range. Staff were really good and I was happy with my stay overall.

Breakfast was buffet style and plenty to choose between. Staff very good and really friendly. Parking was good. Plenty space.

Hotel was really nice and staff were friendly and helpful. Room and facilities were clean. Only downside for us was the bed was a bit hard so didn’t sleep very well.

Room was large and very comfy, clean, a/c and heat worked well.

Poorest ever reception,given a room that the coffee machine did not work,waited for repair for half hour,still not fixed so after a 3 hour drive to the hotel we went away for an hour to visit a well known place to see ,came back to find someone else in our room! Went reception to sort it out,were given another room that had been renovated because the original room required renovation really,after another hour or so we were offered a free pudding or starter,i thought that was a poor offer so i asked to speak to the managerr who rang the new room could be bothered to see me in person,he had no customer skills and had the audacity to offr us as teetotaller a bottle of fizz,he said if you dont drink i could give it to a friend! I mean you couldnt make this up he went on to offet a nextra couple of teabags and buscuits,i asked him to offer a main meal for w which i think was fair and reasonable in the circumstances,prior to his chat the duty manager offered the starter etc,i told the gm to forget his offer i thought he was hopeless,im sure he said he was an owner of the hotel but i found out later that a family actually owned,thereswas a lack of customer contact,couldnt wait to leave,after paying for the stay a month previously et etc etcroom

Rooms are good size clean , the staff at the Smiths are so welcoming, friendly as well as hard working, making sure our stay was 1st class.parking we had no trouble finding a space , as for the air conditioning it was explain it was not working, and we was provided with a fan ,we all had a wonderful stay at the smiths we will come again

Lovely room and excellent breakfast.

Nice hotel, walking distance to the blacksmiths and all the gift shops. The room was a little dated but very spacious and clean. I loved the little fireplace heater. The staff was excellent and I enjoyed the breakfast. The only issue I had was the lack of outlets near the bed to charge your phone. I attended a wedding at Gretna and the reception was held here, I really enjoyed the dinner!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room nice, and breakfast was good. Would stay again.

We were very comfortable during our stay the bed was ok but the bathroom was tired. The air conditioning was excellent and the breakfast was ok the coffee was not to my taste but plenty of choice to help yourself to.

The Hotel was lovely would say there again just not much to do around the area

The hotel staff were friendly and check in was nice and easy. The room was clean, comfortable and great for the kids with having the bunks. My only issue was a terrible nights sleep due to being located just above what I think was the air conditioning so we had the constant sound of fans and drips all night. Could have complained but the kids were fast asleep and didn’t want to uproot them.

Been to this hotel before, its lovely, rooms big and spotless, bed is so comfy definitely return

Quite basic and bathroom dated

Food took a while to come out when ordered, not a lot of bar staff on so had to wait to order and get drinks, bed was pretty hard and the pillows were flat - that could be down to personal preference. Humming/buzzing intermittently in the room that we thought was aircon but wasnt, mentioned this to front desk staff.

Convenient location off motorway. Spacious hotel and accommodation at reasonable rates. Bar and meal choices good. Would use again as stop off to Scotland and local tourist attractions.

Beautiful hotel, fantastic staff and rooms perfect for a family. Bed was extremely comfy and parking great. The only fault was the A/C was very loud but a very good stay. Would definitely return here.
