Courteous staff and lovely room

Amazing stay - great food - totally recommended. Wonderful hospitality team.

As always a delightful stay. So welcoming and friendly - and the braw lounges and lovely gardens - mean the buildings and surrounds are as good as the staff. Only issue was the plug hole in our bath wasn't very secure and the bath water disappeared - just when I wanted a jacuzzi in the bath!!!

My daughter and I stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Fabulous town and hotel. Lots of personality. Needs a bit of a refresh but it’s a lovely quiet restorative atmosphere. Dan the waiter - caretaker was excellent. Very kind and friendly. So was Charlie. Loved the dining experience.

Of the 8 hotels we visited on our Scotland trip, Roman Camp was our least favorite. While the building is historical and charming, we did not feel particularly welcome and the 3 rooms we booked were not up to expectations. The decor was rather a jumble of styles and pieces that might pass for a period look if one did not look too closely. The linens on bed were rough and so were the towels in the bathroom. I think there are plenty of other hotels that would provide a better experience.

We were very happy with our stay here. It was quiet and lots of walking places available for us to take our dog. The service was 1st class, friendly and helpful. we would recommend and hopefully we'll go again.

This was a very poorly maintained property for which we have been charged an exorbitant price. The room was very dated and shabby, unclean and dirty. the tap came off in my hand when pouring a bath. The pillows were lumpy and the bed uncomfortable. The floorboards creek very loudly which makes for a noisy nighttime as you can hear other people moving around. There was also loud music coming from somewhere in the hotel which started at 4 am and lasted until around 8 am - we're not sure where it was coming from, perhaps the bar downstairs which was closed at the time - it sounded like elevator music on a loop - awful. We had little sleep and were very happy to leave. We paid almost £300 for one night here and it was most certainly not worth it. Would avoid it in future and highly recommend anyone reading this review does the same. The staff are very pleasant though and completely understand that the property has been seriously neglected which is unfortunate for them as they have to deal with the customer complaints. Amanda in the Bothy restaurant was particularly lovely and the food and service there were great. Breakfast was fine too. We had booked a superior room - I dread to think what a standard room would be like.

Excellent hotel and fantastic staff. This hotel is beautifully maintained.

We had an excellènt overnight stay, everything was very clean and comfortable. Staff were lovely, very helpful, friendly and polite. Breakfast was very good. We couldn't eat in the restaurant as chef was away but the Potting Shed Bistro a very short walk within the grounds the food was excellent surpassed our expectation.

This is the Hotel experience that those wishing to step back in to a period of opulence and style will really enjoy.Exquisite , tasteful, luxurious and relaxing surroundings coupled with 5 star service.

So charming and cozy. Great location in town but still secluded. Can only imagine how beautiful it is in the summer!

We booked a small en-suite double room but there was a problem with a leak in the the en-suite which the hotel could not resolve quickly. Therefore they moved us to a suite and gave us an apology for the inconvenience of having to move rooms. Excellent resolution for us!
