Great place to stay with exceptional staff

I loved this hotel. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it has a wonderful, African vibe. The food is excellent, and the pool & gardens are lovely. The furnishings are very simple, I don’t expect luxury from a small property in bush. If you need a place close the airport that is clean and quiet, I can recommend this spot. I would stay again.

We booked this property to be accessible to Bandia Reserve. However, we discovered it is actually easy to get to Bandia if you stay within 1/2 hour radius or so as there are taxis on the streets of towns or arranged through other accommodation, including beach areas. Wished we had done this and had not stayed here as there is nothing around this hotel so you are stuck in the middle of nowhere. And to the owner's very set dining times. A lot of his menu was never available. A cat lives in the kitchen. Dinner at 7:30 is late, especially if you have children. Not really a family friendly place as some of the decor was not appropriate, e.g. phallic tap in communal washroom and sexual murals on hotel room walls. Pool was not operating when we were there although it had been advertised as working. Beer is more expensive than other restaurants including the 5 star restaurants. But the most disappointing part of the hotel is the owner and his wife? / girlfriend? / concubine? We returned one afternoon for his set lunch hour to find no one was there. So we couldn't eat. When the owner returned around 4, we told him and his partner that we had not eaten since breakfast and could we have something. A very rude NO. We had to wait until 7:30. They said this to us while they were eating a full meal of rice, salad, meats, etc. We showered and left for good.

Étape avant de prendre l’avion, navette aéroport à l’heure. Accueil excellent, personnel très agréable. Jolie chambre, pas neuve mais très propre. Par contre la piscine n’était pas praticable (saison?) Localisation excellente (Réserve de Bandia toute proche et aéroport à moins de 20 km) et environnement naturel agréable et paisible. La salle collective est spacieuse et magnifique.

Brilliant staff who welcomed us and provided everything needed. Airport pick up got a bit muddled but otherwise a superb haven giving a wonderfully authentic experience. Not too much around but that was also the beauty of the place.

Difficult to find the location

Les chambres sont propres et confortables, et dans un quartier calme pas à proximité des villes ou des stations balnéaires. C'est un excellent choix si vous avez besoin d'une nuit pour rester près de l'aéroport. Ils disposent d'une navette utile depuis et vers l'aéroport. Si vous avez juste besoin de passer du temps à attendre un vol, la piscine y est agréable et le restaurant sert de la bonne nourriture.

Lodge à l'écart de la route à coté de la réserve de Bandia Il propose une grande salle de restaurant où l'on mange très bien, des chambres spacieuses avec sdb, coin bureau et lits équipés de moustiquaires (pas de TV) ainsi qu'une piscine. Le wifi n'est accessible qu'au resto mais le patron peut prêter des routeurs sur demande un endroit au calme qui propose un confort satisfaisant

Wir waren eine Familie mit 2 Kinder 5J & 9J alt. Wir haben nur eine Nacht dort übernachtet und sind weiter nach Saly gefahren wo wir unser Aufenthalt fortgesetzt haben. Für die Nacht war das Hotel absolut empfehlenswert. Das Personal extrem Freundlich, das Familienzimmer, dass wir gebucht haben war geraümisch und sauber.

Our stay was short and eventful. We arrived late at night. The hotel offered transportation from the airport. Omar was great! The location from the airport is convenient. Once we arrived, we learned there was no electricity at the moment, therefore no AC in our room. We were traveling with our 3 kids and this was awful. The heat was so uncomfortable we could not relax and sleep. Our 7 month old baby was just miserable. About 2 hours later the electricity returned and it was much better. Except the air conditioning unit started leaking on one of the beds. We ended up having to move the bed so we could get some sleep. Morning came and we were happy to learn there was hot water in the shower. We got ready to go back to the airport and Bah informed us everything was ready for breakfast. Now the breakfast experience was 5/5. The food was delicious, well presented and prepared. The staff ladies were amazing. We were able to walk around the property and take in its beauty. The Boabab tree near the restaurant was filled with nests and the busiest bird community I have ever witnessed. Stunning. The garden around the property was well maintained and very clean. The pool looked good as well, but we did not have time to get in. We left to the airport with Omar who once again was profesional and kind.

On est arrivé un vendredi en fin d'après-midi, avant de reprendre l'avion le dimanche soir, pour visiter la réserve de Bandia le samedi matin - visite d'ailleurs un peu décevante pour le coût et la durée, à peine 1h30... L'hôtel est parfait en termes de services : les petits déjeuners sont copieux et bons ; la cuisine excellente ; le transfert vers l'aéroport efficace ; le personnel sympathique et le gérant Bernard très agréable ! Je mets juste un petit bémol pour l'eau chaude des douches, un peu faiblarde pour cette période de l'année...

On est arrivé tard un vendredi soir et on est reparti le lendemain midi. Nous avons comme convenu été accueillis à l'aéroport pour 15 000 FCFA et transféré à Dakar pour 35 000 FCFA. Ces deux services ont été parfaits, ainsi que les petits-déjeuners, copieux et bons. Seule manquait un peu d'eau chaude pour la douche du samedi matin...
