City Lodge Johannesburg Airport, Barbara Road

I booked for the non smoking and they allocated us a smoking room and my partner had flu. When I asked if they can transfer us to Midrand waterfall they said it's impossible. Secondly Uber eat guy was not allowed to deliver to the door meanwhile in waterfall they do delivery with no hassles. Patient didn't even call us at the room that there is a delivery for us if they're not allowing Uber guys to walk in. What are the rooms phones for. I'M EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE OF CITY LODGE BARBARA. I'M CONSIDERING TELLING ALL MY COLLEAGUES AT SARS NOT TO GO THERE AS I DOUBT I'LL EVER COME BACK AFTER THIS. I'm truly disappointed with City Lodge Barbara Edenvale. Service is so very low and not up to standard at all. I'm not sure if the guys are not trained how to handle visitors I'm really not sure and the price for the rooms are more expensive than Midrand but service and the room conditions is far far away different. Why is that? Why are we treated like that I'm so disappointed ☹️☹️☹️

Apparently there are 2 City Lodge hotels near the airport. They have nearly identical names. We booked the wrong one. PLEASE add some clarity in the description showing these are 2 hotels!

Property allows smoking in rooms. My room smelled cigarettes and parts of tge hallways as well. The only positive is the lication of the hotel close to the airport.

The hotel is clean but the aircon is a serious frustration even after I reported it. Remained in the same condition. I was so unhappy. Room 212

Booked in after previous venue did not have water. Staff very helpful.

Very convenient to the airport. Transfers were efficient and friendly. Restaurant meals were delicious. Can recommend this hotel.

Excellent accommodation and excellent service.

Decent price, rooms were clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Soaker tub was really nice. While only a few minutes' drive away, this is not *at* JNB airport. There is *a* City Lodge at JNB, but not this one, and you have to pay to take the shuttle or Uber. Not a huge deal, but something to be aware of. Also - why are there no fridges in the rooms?

No elevater had to carry own luggage up stairs. Not for older lady travellers. I don't like to complain, but I would never stay there again. Ist room had bed bugs, I always check before i even take my shoes off! Yes got another room. They were kind and supportive about that. Just didn't need the drama. Also no telepnone calls when my husband called. I was asked to talk to hubby on reception desk he would be calling again in 10 minutes.

It is a good business hotel. I wish they had better food options

This is my favorite place to stay for business in Joberg.

They had a nice water view from the dining areas and we were told that at times they have had hippos gather there. We did get to see any but would have loved to get to experience it. Definitely will need to plan a second visit.
