Amazing experience in Alta House, Begur is a must visit. I get to travel all pver the world and I will be back to Alta House. The town is great, lots of calas around to visit but the staff (Qmile) was incredible, he wa super helpful and very kind. Thank you Alta House for an amazing time.

Had a nice stay at this hotel - good retreat in the centre of begur which is a great town. The hotel is good, but not exceptional - the rooms are very modern, plain and pretty basic, nothing special. Basic things like water not being replenished and fresh glasses not being given each morning, plus the tv not being ‘smart’ so could only watch satellite tv (no option for Netflix, for example). No problems, but not a premium hotel in my opinion. We also payed extra for a room with eterrace - which wasn’t private - it was overlooked by the footpath to lots of other rooms, and didn’t get any sun - it was just a square of concrete, with concrete walls + a small table and 2 chairs. We didn’t therefore want to spend any time out there. The hotel itself had a small but nice pool, but it was quite shaded and right next to tables and chairs so didn’t feel like a place to relax - more a place for a quick plunge to cool down. The breakfast was a bit of a let down too, we stayed for 5 nights and there was no variety at all (same 3 fruits for the salad, same 3 cold meats) so that got boring quite quickly. Fine for a 1 or 2 night stay, but not longer. Note, to reserve parking it costs 8 euros per day - usually 3 euros unreserved in the local public car park, but you have to pay 5 euros to guarantee your space (with the hotel).

Sehr schöne Unterkunft in Begur. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten lassen sich zu Fuß erreichen. Auch das Frühstück und der Pool sind toll.

Very welcoming staff very helpful re advice on local area. Rooms very spacious and very clean. Very modern. Breakfast was fabulous, great selection of everything, over all a very relaxed atmosphere. Looking forward to staying there again.

Alta House is a small, modern very well run hotel by centre of Begur. Clean and comfortable, with staff who could not be more helpful and friendly - Camille, Angela and Julia thank you so much. We were sorry to say goodbye to them !

Fantastic stay in Begur. An amazing town with everything you need for a great night out. Restaurants and Tapas bars are plentiful and the hotel is right in the middle.

Camille at the front desk with his team Julia & Angela were superb - welcoming, accommodating and so helpful with local tips & insights, dining recommendations and taxi connections. After a long tiring travel day, we entered the hotel lobby that smells divine, the rooms were well-appointed with comfortable beds, fluffy white towels, in-room fridge, and lovely outdoor deck furnished with table & chairs. We spent a lot of time enjoying the gorgeous pool and pool area and a highlight was the sunset cocktails were unforgettable with the coastal vista, the hip vibe with perfect playlist capped off with castle views. The lady who replenished the breakfast treats smiled warmly all morning and we loved the breakfast. The location is perfect too and we began our day with a walk to the castle, enjoyed afternoon shopping in the lovely streets nearby, and we reveled with a bop in the town square to a fantastic DJ. We also took taxis to local beach Sa Riera and snorkeling in a glass bottom boat from l’estratit. Our only regret was we didn’t stay longer. Camille made a point of finding us to give us a hug on our last day and to bid us adieu. We’ll be back.

A beautiful modern boutique hotel in a magical location

Wonderful hotel

Alta House was perfect for our family of four (two adults and two teens - we had two rooms) to spend a couple of days visiting Begur and the surrounding area. We really liked the hotel, including the breakfast, pool area and rooftop bar area with incredible views. While you can’t park right at the hotel, you can drive to it to unload your bags before taking your car to one of the parking lots nearby. Although this might sound inconvenient, it really is part of the allure of Begur - there really aren’t many cars in the town at all, and it makes the place very pedestrian friendly.

Alta House is rated on Expedia as very good and that is just not right. You have no control over the temperature in your room. You must call front desk to ask them to adjust it. The mattress have plastic like covers that are noisy and hot. The place is furnished from IKEA-like sources. Go somewhere else for an authentic experience. Don’t pay for this one you will be disappointed.

The town is built on a hill so all parking is at the foot of the hill. Be prepared that you will have to bring your bags up the hill. The hotel itself is very nice and serves a good breakfast.

The rooms were spacious and well designed with good attention to detail. The outside terrace and pool was charming and a lovely place to sit in the morning. And the afternoon.
