I arrived at about 10pm,having made the trip from Tangiers. The reception guy was pleasant and immediately noticed that a mistake had been made - I had been allocated an upgraded room for the two nights. So I got this room for the first night at no extra charge and had to change to my basic en suite single the next day. No problem for me at all.
It's near the port, which has its advantages but pretty far (for someone in their 7th decade) from the posher places in town with nice restaurants and large supermarkets. However, there are plenty of small 24 hour corner shops open nearby as well as snack or fast food places that are also open 24/7.
On the second night I walked to the high town for a nicer meal. It took it out of me, but for a younger, fitter person it would be no problem.
The one downside of the hotel in general was that they said they had no fridge at all to store some bits and pieces in overnight.
The whole hotel was clean and comfortable enough including the rooms. The bathroom is spacious and well equipped. However, there were downsides to the room, as well as the hotel in general. There is a flat screen TV with satellite options. However, all of the channels are in Spanish. I didn't accept the offer of a remote control for the second night. And that TV is nailed down to the only table where one can put a laptop. So using the computer is rather cramped.
I'd go back. It's certainly worth the low price.
