This is a stunning Parador in an old convent and it was lovely just to walk around the place. We ate in the courtyard of the cloisters and although it was slow to sign the bill at the end the food, the atmosphere and general enjoyment was at the top of the scale.
Our room was overlooking the courtyard which was fine but some rooms overlook the town which will have spectacular views.
There is a good sized pool and we managed a swim after wandering around the old town.
The iron bridge to the town is in front of the Parador and crosses the gorge. It is a bit wobbly but not as bad as we read in previous reports.
Our only regret is that we should have booked for two nights not one. The location is stunning as is the town and Parador. Do visit the cathedral as that is stunning too.

We love paradors and enjoy the stay here. The room is comfortable. Breakfast is good. There are not sufficient staff at cafe shop and restaurant, so something have to wait for the service. We had the dinner at the restaurant, a bit disappointed. Service is not up to expectation.

Sona was so warm and welcoming. Our dinner at this restaurant at the hotel was one of the most magical experiences for me and my daughter. Sona also took the time and care to strategize and organize our transportation to the train station to get to our next location.

Another superb Parador hotel - the third this holiday. The staff were delightful, the room had a marvellous view over the pedestrian bridge leading into town. Parking was nearly a problem as there are only 10 places available (with a further 2 if you count two cars parking in one disabled slot!). However, we were fortunate to find one empty slot when we arrived. There is additional parking available at 25 euros a day next to the Parador. The walk into town is very easy - just a few minutes across the pedestrian bridge (hope you like heights!). Driving through Cuenca ‘new town’ was horrendous - we were glad to be above the ‘new town’ in our lovely Parador.

Fabulous update to a suite - the hotel itself is outstanding but is let down by the chaotic parking arrangements and lack of sufficient number of staff on front desk. The breakfast was good but a bit pricey compared to other parador establishments.
