We had a lovely one night stay at Ferncliff, it was just lovely and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend as a very well run ‘b&b’ type hotel but much more luxurious. Bernard in particular was fantastic, especially his cooking — we had both dinner and breakfast there. Very glad we chose this over the ‘grand hotel’ in the end.

Absolutely beautiful and very comfortable stay, all due to Bernard's warmth, generosity and accommodating all of our needs. We are so happy that we spent time on the beautiful grounds in such a beautiful setting. Kudos to the chef who's dishes were truly amazing!

The service is absolutely amazing. There is an old, dignified quality to it that will transport you.

This is an amazingly well preserved colonial bungalow set in a beautiful grounds and garden. The ambiance was relaxing and the service was perfect. Meals were very good also. The hotel is small around 6 bedrooms so you get the feeling of having the place to yourself. Most of The furnishing etc are from the original house owners and are in very good condition. The location is on a hill at the edge of the main town but still close enough to walk to the various parks and restaurants. The area has some very interesting old bungalows which are fascinating. trinity church is also worth exploring. Ferncliff is a wonderful place to stay especially for those who are keen to see what a British era residence must have been like. A very memorable experience and one I highly recommend!

Our room Geraldine had very thin walls, could hear people talking everywhere. Room had no fan or aircon and when we opened the windows we got a lot of insects. Service was very good, food ok
