This is typical old Hotel. The building is old and the technology (water, electricity ) is old, but all works. Situation in the city is excellent; near centrum, on the beach. Good bed to sleep and the sound of waves is soothing. Good beakfast and the limits from food allergy were well taken into account. And also very early mornig breakfast when needed was possible. We liked.

For the price this property really is brilliant. Staff are super friendly and accommodating, breakfast was decent and the location couldn’t be better. Rooms slightly outdated but can’t complain given the cost. Definitely would recommend.

Perfect location, very friendly staff, nice room with the beach nearby.

The room was next to the sea with a lovely panoramic view of the beach. However, it would have been even more comfortable had an electric kettle with the accompanying tea bags, sugar and creamer were provided. Further, simple inexpensive items like a toothbrush, toothpaste and soap were also missing! Overall, it was a nice experience.

Hotellets beliggenhed er dets største force. Alt skal dog også ses i forhold til prisen, det var billigt ! Venligt personale og ok mad. Værelserne har en ok beliggenhed med skrå havudsigt væk fra gadestøj, værelserne er dog særdeles spartansk indrettet. Wi-fi virkede kun omkring kontoret, ikke på vær.

Fantastisk hyggeligt sted

Stayed only one night from an 18 night booking - it was that bad. The room, bathroom in particular was disgustingly filthy, you could write your name in the dirt on the glass shelve. Sheets were soiled, floor and surfaces could not have been cleaned properly for ages. When we complained the manager took what appeared to be a red table napkin and wiped the bathroom with it using cold water, NO cleaning agent was used. We had booked B & B but felt uneasy about eating in an establishment with such poor standards. We thought, from looking at the website photographs we were booking a hotel with direct access to the beach. To reach the beach from the "beer garden" was a good 3 foot drop over rough boulders and bags of cement. Don't be fooled by photographs of sun loungers in the garden, its the hotel next door. Having stayed in many hotels in Sri Lanka this is by far the worst.

Det var et udemærket hotel, det lå lige ned til vandet. Korelrevet lå til den ene side, hvor der var stille bølger. Til den anden side var der rimelige heftige bølger, hvis man er til det. Det største minus var at der var meget larm, både fra havet og fra vejen. Men ellers et meget flinkt personale

Kan inte rekommendera detta hotell. Slitet och gammalt. Det var väldigt obekväma sängar och vi hade inget varmvatten. Hotellet ligger vid havet men inte vid en strand, det går inte att bada utanför hotellet då där bara är sten. Vårt rum städade inte på de 5 nätter vi bodde där. Det enda positiva med detta hotell är att det är billigt och har god frukost. Men välj något annat.

the hotel is quite simple, but very hospitable hosts. The rooms are clean but not new. A canopy of mosquitoes were dirty. in the ocean reef, so swimming is not allowed, we went to another beach on the scooter. Scooter costs 8$ can at the hotel rent. The Breakfast is simple. We stayed for 3 nights, overall satisfied with everything.For the money a good hotel, but much should not be expected. The night is very audible waves.

När vi skulle checka ut vill dem att vi skulle betala för frukosten fast det ingick. De sa att det hotels.com gjort fel. Ligger centralt men precis på en dålig del på stranden som är svår att gå på.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in the delux double room with balcony and sea views. We loved the large balcony, the amazing sea views and the bar area that is pretty much on the beach. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and breakfast was basic but ok. The food in the restaurant was also good and reasonably priced. The rooms were not dirty but also not spotlessly clean. They felt quite damp and our room was not cleaned while we were there, even though we did ask for it to be. The biggest downside of the hotel is that the it is in need of some serious maintenance and also needs updating as the rooms are tired and a bit tatty. For example on the second night we woke up to the roof leaking after it had rained and the electrics crackling. To be fair the owners moved us to another room but again this was tired and in need of an update. In summary, this hotel offers a great location, it's right on the beach and is reasonable budget accommodation. With a bit of a make over this hotel could be amazing.

This hotel is perfect for budget conscious travellers, seeking beachfront property with very convenient access to Hikkaduwa's main street, grocery store and restaurants. The hotel is old and is no frills! If you're looking for a resort, don't stay here. If you want a cheap place to chill by the beach, and great indian food, stay here.

Rent og pænt basis værelse, som havde et dejligt stort vindue og fane. God morgenmad, som dog først kunne fåes fra kl 8.30. Yderst venligt værtspar og generelt god stemning på hotellet. Perfekt beliggenhed ifht strand og by.

I had a wonderful time staying at Hotel Paradiso. That have a really great menu with a lot of tasty food. Last 2 days I had all my meals at the hotel :). I just had the lokal and Indian food, and it was so good. The hotel is smal and I was here during the low season. The hotel is on the beach and you can't here the traffic, just the ocean. They have a smal private beach, with a couple of sun beds and tables. And a lot of shadow, which I really needed because of the heat. The family who owns the hotel was very friendly and did what they could to make my stay as best as they could. They helped me with all my questions, both about things related to my trip and questions I had about Sri Lanka.

Vi backpackar och valde därför basic room. Det är rent, har dusch och precis allt man behöver. Man får vad man betalar för. Personalen är jättetrevlig och hjälper så gärna till. Kaffet smakar sump, men teet är underbart!! vi hade en jättetrevlig vistelse ;)

Väldigt lyhört men mkt bra läge vid strand. Restaurangen var toppen och likaså servicen. Dålig Wi-fi men bra frukost. Vi trivdes mkt bra.

This was a great little place. A good room, good bathroom, nice bed with clean bedding, right by the beach and reasonably priced. Must mention the Indian restaurant at the road side of this hotel was absolutely amazing food, I even liked the spinach potatoes, which is not normally something i`d be interest in! Very friendly staff, and a quiet hotel bar area. Highly recommended.
