If anyone in your party has mobility limitations, this otherwise wonderful place may not be for you. We had stayed here before and all went well. However, this time they had assigned us rooms that required climbing a full set of stairs - not a possibility for one person in our party. Apparently, their elevators do not reach many of the rooms. We were able to switch one room to a more accessible one, but incredibly the doorway to access it was open in one direction only during the hours the restaurant is in operation. As the manager explained it: so that restaurant patrons are spared the view of folks accessing their room. An alternate access exists, but it again comes with stairs or is not available when the conference room is in use. A clear warning about limited accessibility would be helpful at time of booking. According to the manager, had we called ahead, better arrangements could have been made but we did not know this was necessary.

Upscale ambiance, beautiful renovation of a historic mansion. Be aware that less expensive rooms have much less desirable views and your overall experience may well be impacted by this.

A recently renovated property that feels like you're staying at vineyard, yet is only a few minutes drive from Lugano center.

Spotless room, quiet, relaxing atmosphere, pet friendly, welcoming, and so much care goes into the food and experience. Simply breathtaking views. Beds were very comfortable!

The staff was outstanding and the room was very clean. The location is private but with access to get down the hill by bus. The place itself is just gorgeous

Amazing stay at Bigatt. Staff, room and breakfast were amazing. The view from the balcony was also really beautiful! The only downside is that you need to catch a bus to access downtown, so you need to plan ahead a little bit. But honestly, that didn't bother us. I truly recommend staying at Bigatt if you are ever in Lugano.

Der Aufenthalt im Hotel war sehr gut. Höhepunkt war die wundervolle Aussicht und das ausgezeichnete Frühstückbuffet. Aer Pool war sehr gut. Das Wasser bei 32° Außentemperatur zu warm. Das Hotel ist eher teuer. Nicht nötig finde ich CHF 16./Nacht fürs Parking, da das Hotel ja nicht grad im Zentrum liegt und eine Anreise ohne Auto kompliziert ist. Dafür gibt es das Ticino Ticket, das die Nutzung des ÖVs erleichtert. Beim TV funktionierte etwa 10 Sender nur mit Störungen. Sschade, dass die deutschsprachigen Schweizer Sender davon betroffen sind.

Bigatt is the nicest surprise I have ever had for a hotel stay. The staff, the fresh and clean atmosphere, the pool (swimming outdoors in the alps on Halloween was not expected), the dinner made from a fresh on the grounds garden, the house wine also made on the grounds, the stunning views of Lugano, and also the story of the place all make it a rare find while traveling. Bigatt is the real deal for hospitality and stay here if can. I will try to be back some day.

GREAT HOTEL AND STUNNING VIEW. LOVED IT!

This was an old villa renovated to a high standard. It was very beautiful. Our room was clean, large and we loved the decor. The most amazing thing was the view of Lugano. The restaurant was pricey but served outstanding dishes. The breakfast buffet beautifully presented with many options. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the hotel was on a steep hillside and we could only get to town by car as we could not walk down the hill. We are older and not in the best physical shape. However, overall, a fantastic hotel that we would warmly recommend.

Excellent property - awesome mandate and foundation to advance people and train them to be productive and acquire a skill set - Caroline was awesome giving advice and help. Staff in restaurant and kitchen did an excellent job and were very attentive. If ever back in this area we would visit again. Great place to stay.

Tolle Location. Hübscher Pool. Gutes Frühstück. Nette Leute.

Unbelievably beautiful view, great room, delicious restaurant. Location is not great without a car as you just rely on public transportation that comes only once per hour but otherwise highly recommend.

A truly wonderful hotel: have stayed here before, and look forward to staying here again. In particular, the staff is totally lovely, and the physical plant is in superb condition. About as nice a hotel as one can imagine.
