Beautiful spot, easy access to hiking trails, amazing breakfast, lovely staff. A bit of an uphill walk out of town, so people who want close access to Zermatt should look elsewhere, but we loved the quiet scenery.

Hotel Matthiol is located in a quiet area which takes around 15 mintues by the hotel shuttle bus. We have the fondue for dinner inside an outdoor transparent tent which is very special and romantic. The service of the staff is excellent. It takes around 10 mins walk from the hotel to the downtown and cable car to the Matterhorn. The view from the balcony of our room is just fine since it’s not facing to the Matterhorn. The only required improvement is the water leakage problem of the shower area.

The hotel shuttle was broken for the pick up at train station so the staff asked us ride taxi and the hotel will pay the service later. However, we rode the taxi that was not payable by the hotel. The hotel should arrange the taxi and tell the guest which taxi instead of asking guest to find taxi themselves.

The only reason I gave this hotel 4 instead of 5 stars is the room layout. Otherwise, the hotel is exceptional. The property is beautiful, the staff is outstanding, and our stay was wonderful.
We stayed in a Premier Room with stunning Matterhorn views. It was immaculate and featured dual sinks, a separate toilet, a soaking tub, steam shower, and sauna.
The layout, however, could be improved. The vanity has very little counter space because the raised sinks occupy most of it. The soaking tub, located at the foot of the bed, prevents the balcony door from opening fully and blocks access to the steam shower and sauna when open. The desk is too close to the bed, so if someone is seated there, it's difficult to reach the closet or room entrance. We also noticed that sound insulation seemed limited, as hallway and neighboring room noise was easily heard.
Despite these issues, this is a beautiful hotel with exceptional service. Better room functionality and soundproofing would make it an easy 5-star stay.

Wow—what can I say? This is one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. My wife and I highly recommend it, and we will definitely be back.
The staff was exceptional and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. After our experience here, it truly made the hotel we stayed at in St. Moritz pale in comparison.
If you’re looking for a place with stunning mountain views, a beautiful terrace, comfortable rooms, and a relaxing spa, this is the place to stay. After a long day of exploring, the spa was the perfect way to unwind, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay.
Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. We can’t wait to come back! The Myers

The room was clean the staff were very nice and kind. Maybe I am used to US hotel services but it felt very customized and catered to us. You can see the Matterhorn from the room if you book the mountain view room. it's mostly the top of the mountain. You can actually see it better if you walk out towards the bus station.
The food was great. Really delicious. The breakfast buffet was amazing too and you can get fresh squeezed orange juice and egg dishes made to order.
I highly recommend this hotel even though it's a 10-15 minute bus ride to get there. They have shuttle service from the train station on check in / check out days. On your way up to the hotel if you walk, you have a beautiful view of the Matterhorn.

Fantastic hotel! Rooms are very clean and very alpine chic without being kitschy. Great location to ski lifts and hike to gornegrat. A little further location from town, which it’s easy to walk there or take the local shuttle. Hotel has a shuttle for transporting you and your luggage from the train, which is super helpful. Breakfast is wonderful! Loved Zermatt. All in all a truly wonderful stay!

Great boutique hotel. New. Only negative dislocation. On far end of town. No near by restaurants. Property restaurant closed on day we checked in. Uphill walk and taxi 70 swiss francs for 1.5 km. Bus is free, every 20-30 minutes.
Hotel e-tuk tuk will pick up and drop off at the railway station. Must call from Tasch about arrival time. No receptionist after 10 pm.
Otherwise great property.
Breakfast is very good and was included in the room rate. Bar is quaint. Dinner was excellent.
We had excellent view of Matterhorn from 2 floor room.
