You pay in advance, then you discover your jail cell. It is small, dirty, in bad condition, the light and furniture are depressing, the windows are facing walls. But moreover, there's no phonic insulation at all, and our bed was 3 metres away from the reception desk, only separated by a door with space around and a keyhole you can watch through. Also, the "resort" is located in some kind of ghost village. If you want to find a shop, bar, or restaurant you have to work one or two kilometers, so that the hotel can sell you everything at 4 to 10 times the actual price (water, food etc).
When we said we didn't like the place we have been proposed a bigger room, in an even poorer condition. We didn't want to stay and we have never been refunded the 6 nights we paid.
This place could be considered an acceptable"backpacker" solution if it was 10/15 USD per night, although two far from real life. We stayed in six different places in Zanzibar, all of them were cheaper than this one and definitely nice. We were just trapped. We lost our time, money and good mood there.
