The hotel was very spacious, close to the resort cafe and reception and within walking distance to the riverbed and sanctuary.
It had good amenities with a large outdoor shower with shower gel/ shampoo and toilet paper.
In the bed room there was bottled water and kettle for teas or coffees, homemade mosquito repellent and soap bar, there was also a hair dryer and a mosquito net which was an extra bonus.
The resort offer free shuttle to the riverbed however we walked down and made our way over to the sanctuary it was amazing to see the elephants roaming around with the designated handlers who were so friendly despite the language barrier for some.
Overall an amazing experience and would definitely come back again.
This beautiful sanctuary truly is magical!
If you think you're going to have any western luxuries, please reduce your expectations! This is a rural eco lodge.
We stayed in the mountain cabins and we didn't have hot water, so we made due with coldish water. That really was the only inconvenience.
Food was amazing!
From the staff to the elephant handlers, it was sooooo great!
Being able to see the elephants walk around and feed them and watch their personalities shine, really was magical.
As for the tours, please do not miss them!
We did 2 tours. The jungle temple trek with Chat and the full day elephant hike with Tip(Dip) were amazing!
They are so funny and knowledgeable!
Enjoy this sanctuary!
What an awesome experience we had. Love the sweetest people that take care of the property. They’re so mindful of everything and very kind when letting us walk around their village. They share their love for the elephants and how much they mean. Just a wonderful place!
