Kantary Beach Khao Lak

Beautiful beach, comfortable bed & good shower, clean & perfect for what we needed. Food was good in the Similan restaurant & breakfast also really good. Staff were friendly & helpful. Was a 400thb taxi ride into bang Niang night market so away from the centre but quiet for us & a short transfer to the pier for the early bird Similan island tour we booked in advance. Was perfect weather at Similan but cloudy & rainy when we got back so didn’t get any time on the beach but was certainly a beautiful beach.

Really nice resort with very committed staff. I can highly recommend Kanatary Beach at Khao Lak.

Everything about this hotel is marvellous ,from check in and to check out .suite was very comfortable , with small kitchen which was most useful and fridge The beds are so comfortable with the best linen.This was our 5th visit to this hotel and we look forward to returning .The hotel is located on a beautiful white sandy beach and perfect swimming in the sea .If you want a relaxing beach holiday this is a gem and perfect ,All the employees are so kind & courteous and nothing is too much trouble for them .Reservations gave us the suite we requested which was excellent .The cleaner Nattachet in our suite due to a mistake by myself found an envelope on the floor containing a large amount of money it was not touched this is a testement to the hotel and his personal honesty.The breakfast was very good with lots of choice ,the restaurant also served wonderful meals .i can highly recommend this hotel . .

The Kantary Beach Hotel is quite a 15-20 minute drive north of Khao Lak. As it turned out we were quite happy with that, as Khao Lak is a typical busy tourist town, lacking in any great character. The Hotel did offer regular minibus transfers to and from Khao Lak, on chargeable basis, but we never fealt the need to visit Khao Lak. Instead we spent a few days relaxing by the Hotel pools, and strolling along the beautiful Coconut Beach. We did sample the Hotel restaurant on our first evening, but found it expensive and lacking in atmosphere, compared to what we had experienced elsewhere in Thailand. For others evening dinners we preferred to walk along the beach to a small selection of on the beach local restaurants, where we dined in candlelight as the waves gently rolled in. The local food was delicious and drinks reasonably priced. Our Hotel suite was very spacious and well appointed. Overall a nice place to stay with some good value dining within easy walking distance along the beach.

The villa's were excellent and the perfect size for two people. Very handy for the beach, pools, restaurants etc. Very impressed they were cleaned every day by courteous and friendly staff.

Was only at this location for one night. Great beach, pools, villa was nice with outdoor shower. But.. tried one of their restaurants for dinner, on property and was very disappointed!! I ordered shrimp and it was smelly and I sent it back. Went down the beach a short way to find a fun place for food and drink.

Great hotel for those who like to be out of the way, nothing much to walk to so 3 nights was enough fo me personally. My apartment 6210 was right up near the entrance so lovely and quiet. Being on end I had extra windows giving extra light. Generous in size plus large balcony. Happy Hour at Otters Bar is very pleasant and good value, great for watching the sunset. Excellent staff too.

The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was good. The staff was very hard to understand. It was hot in the (outdoor) restaurant — tip: sit under a fan! We were transferring to a dive boat so did not use the beach or the massage though both look good. The visibility for snorkeling was nil, unfortunately, though there were great tide pools.

We booked the hotel in the belief it was adults only, sadly discovering when it was too late to cancel that children are allowed. There were quite a lot of children who were ill mannered, lacking table manners, thoroughly spoilt, loud and noisy, with no parental control, so we weren't happy bunnies. The villa was spacious and well equipped, although other furniture was a tad frayed at the edges and the patio furniture needed a good pressure wash. The villa was ideally located being close to the beach and restaurants, it was quiet and very private and we overlooked trees that were full of birds, squirrels, lizards so it was very interesting. The outdoor shower was a bonus. Pool areas were clean and well maintained and the staff pleasant. However, there were notices banning nappy-wearing babies but this wasn't policed. The shuttle bus worked well into town with a charge of 100Bhats each way. The hotel Is a bit isolated with just one restaurant, which is excellent, close by and where we ate most of the time, so a bike or car would be handy, otherwise use the shuttle bus. We had a great 10 days holiday but wouldn't have wanted to stay longer. Smoking throughout the hotel should be introduced.

Wonderful hotel in a beautiful beach . this was our fourth visit here and we were greeted like old friends and offered a cold drink and towel . We were so pleased to be offered our favourite suite .all the employees we met were always most courteous and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them .This made our stay so pleasant.very comfortable beds with premium bedding and good air conditioning.Frequent shuttle bus to local market and centre of town cost 100baht per person .

It was fine but more like a mass complex as opposed to the boutique beach places. The beach and ocean are good especially with the unique, large tree that are growing right out of the far edge of the beach. When we were there jelly fis were in the water so not a good idea to swim. It is somewhat isolated but breakfast and staff were excellent.

We absolutely loved this resort for our honeymoon. The staff were so great. We especially loved the restaurant manager. He was the best! The massages on the beach were incredible. The resort itself is so beautiful and quite. Perfect for couples.

Great location for a perfect chill holiday. Staff at the hotel are very generous & helpful; a special mention to the restaurant staff & the excellent dining options at the Similan restaurant. The hotel itself is a little dated however it was meticulously kept.

The room, pool, beach and restaurant are nice. Suggest brining baby food if you have small children. Mosquitoes were common so bring repellent. The hotel is about 2 hours from the airport and main Phuket shop areas so difficult to visit much outside the resort if you have small kids like us.

We recently stayed here for 5 nights and immediately fell in love with the place... We opted for the villa which was very clean and comfortable. Right on white sandy beach so was perfect for relaxing. Staff couldn't be any more accommodating and helpful. Went on a couple of trips through the hotel that were well managed and a great experience. Choice and quality of food was great. All in all just perfect.

The Resort was good overall,Beach Villas are the best value, the Hotel rooms are too far away from the beach,pool and Resturants.The reception staff are very poor in English and not helpful, the rest of the Staff were excellent.If you want a quiet beach location this is the one for you.The Town Centre of Khoa Lak is about 15mins away,they have a regular shuttle running,but you have to pay.

Kantary Beach Hotel, is a lovely relaxing and quiet place to spend some time. We stayed in one of the many private Villas. The accommodation is great. An extremely comfortable king size bed, nice size en-suite bathroom, with 'outdoor' shower (it has walls, no roof) [Indoor shower also, but we never used it], and it has a nice living area with TV, bar fridge and sink. Accommodation was clean and felt quite new. Oh, and 2 A/C units for when you need them. We found that 1 was more than enough. There are limited eating options unless you go 'outside' the resort, but we did not find that to be necessary. They have a high class restaurant, and a general meals restaurant. We didn't bother with the fancy one, The Thai food on offer at the standard option was delicious. They do western food too, but if you're in Thailand, eat local. Clearly their marketing is very good in Western and Eastern Europe, as almost all guests seemed to be European. That worked out great for us, as it meant we had shade wherever we went. The Europeans come over to bake in the sun. I'm from Australia and avoid too much exposure if possible; So, that perfect spot under the tree on the beach was all ours! I'd class the resort as a good honest place to stay. All the amenities you need, without the pomp and ceremony that some others may have.
