Samatha Bed & Breakfast

We decided to stay two more nights. Hard to find better value for money on koh tao. Stylish b&b with great breakfast and very close to the beach. Balcony with the room is a nice extra. WiFi is not working perfectly and there are roosters that could wake you up in the morning, but those were the only two negatives we could find.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Samatha for four nights and really enjoyed our time there. Our room was exactly like the pictures and was very clean. Breakfast was included with our stay (very tasty and great coffee), as well as two free bottles of water and some amenities. The staff here was a very friendly family who were very inviting and welcoming. Samatha is located about 2 minutes from the quieter end of Sairee beach!! Perfect location as it is walking distance to everything (restaurants,massages,coffee shops, etc). If you are planning a trip here around the "Save Koh Tao festival" ( june 18-19 every year) I would recommend staying else where. The festival was located right beside samatha... Which resulted in VERY loud music from about 5pm-3:00 am. It was literally shaking our room. The staff was nice enough to apologize for the noise, even though we knew it was nothing under their control! Will be returning to Samatha again one day!

Très agréable séjour ,personnel accueillant ,décoration très sympa et proche des commerces .Il ne manque qu une piscine mais la plage n est pas très loin à pied.

Restaurants, loueur de scooter, vendeurs d'excursion/billets bateau/réservations taxi et 7/11 tout proche. chambre propre et au calme, plage à 3min à pieds. Il y a un 2ème étage en construction qui n'est pas achevé, cela fait un peu tâche comparé aux photos de Hotels.com. Attention, l'hôtel ("Bed & Breakfast"...) vous propose un petit déjeuner gratuit ridicule qui n'a rien à voir avec le petit déjeuner payant, bien plus copieux.

O hotel oferece poucos recursos pelo preço da diária. Nosso quarto estava inacabado, pois observamos em fotos que a varanda era coberta e o nosso estava localizado no terceiro andar onde haviam apenas dois (aguardando termino de construção), o nosso a varanda estava ainda descoberta. Não tivemos muita relação com os funcionários e donos, acreditamos que a dona do hotel era uma (Tailandesa) uma pessoa muito simpática, havia também uma mulher (estrangeira), o qual nos atendia que não era muito receptiva e cativante. Nos causando um grande constrangimento no momento do check out: -Nos mostrando uma das toalhas com um pouco de rímel e nos perguntando: -O que é isto? Vou tentar lavar agora, se não sair terão que pagar! Ela foi extremamente sem ética nos colocarmos nesta situação...Foi muito chato ficamos muito constrangidos, pois estávamos sentado na mesa do café...com pessoas próximas! Ficamos esperando sentados e ela ou outros empregados lavarem a toalha, para ela nos dizer: -Check out ok! Eu perguntei: -Está tudo ok com a toalha? Ela afirma: -Sim está! Toalhas as quais, retirávamos todos os dias para irmos à praia (velhas e escuras), limpas...porém envelhecidas (acinzentadas de uso). O café da manhã é bem básico, vc precisa escolher dois itens ou três pela metade (ser for três ex: serão em copos pequenos. Bem importante destacar que o quarto não possui televisão, no momento de nossa reserva não observamos isto.

This recent stay at the Samatha was the 4th time I've stayed. I like the industrial, lofty architecture and the simpleness of the rooms(minimal furniture, no tv), but I especially really like the owners: a young Thai couple and their darling daughter, PanPan. The staff is very, very attentive and accommodating to guests (they have only 6 rooms) and are all just kind, good people. The main eating/seating area on the main floor of the B&B is a comfortable place to hang out or eat their great breakfast (go for the yogurt with fresh fruit and muesli - delicious!). The building is close to the main central area of Sairee Beach but is just far enough away (4 minute walk) to help keep the area quiet (the Samatha does NOT do the "party" thing). The hotel is not fancy and it's 'basic-ness' may not be for all people - you only get one towel, the beds are a bit hard, there is no screen on the window/vent in the shower (we hang a towel over it to prevent mosquitoes from getting in), and there is no hot water in the bathroom sink. However, it is a refreshing and classy place nevertheless, and if you're okay without fancy amenities and like a more "boutique" feel than a traditional hotel, this is a great place to stay.

Dette B&B kan absolut anbefales. Servicen er i top på dette lille hyggelige sted, hvor værten tager sig godt af en og gerne hjælper med vejledning ift. udflugter. Derudover er maden også ganske udemærket. Selve værelset er meget moderne indrettet og har en god og brugbar terrasse. Hotellet ligger 150 m. fra stranden og 100 m. fra en masse restauranter og indkøbsmuligheder.

Lief personeel, prima locatie, strand is op 1 min lopen, winkels, restaurants en uitgaan zitten om de hoek maar heb je geen last van. Kamers netjes, warme douche, airco doet het stil en goed. Ontbijt is heerlijk en keuze genoeg. Wij gaan zeker terug!!!

Nytt & fräscht med modern men trivsam stil. Lugnt & tyst läge endast någon minuts promenad från både strand, shopping, och restauranger. Mycket trevlig personal och väldigt prisvärt. Vi stannade 16 nätter, är mycket nöjda med vistelsen, och kommer sannolikt komma tillbaka nästa gång vi är på Koh Tao.

Mooi nieuw hotel met ruime kamer en riant balkon. Net even weg uit de drukte met auto's en scooters gevulde hoofdstraat, maar 100 meter lopen. Helaas geen waterkoker op de kamer, wij houden er namelijk van eerst even koffie te drinken als we wakker worden, maar aangezien we dit wisten hadden we op ons vorige logeer adres een waterkoker gekocht voor 250 bath. Nice room with balcony, lovely design, helpful staff and good food.

We really liked this place. Very cocomfortable and accomodating. Very close to Sairee beach but also out of the way enough to be quiet. Very friendly staff. Food was not bad

Wir waren für 4 Nächte dort und haben den Aufenthalt wirklich sehr genossen. Die Zimmer sind modern rustikal eingerichtet und waren sauber (auf Wunsch werden diese jeden Tag gereinigt). Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und höflich und konnte einem bei Fragen immer weiterhelfen. Beim Frühstück steht einem eine begrenzte Auswahl an Gerichten zur Verfügung inklusive Getränk und wir waren mit den Portionen und der Qualität sehr zufrieden. Die Lage ist gut, da das Hotel an der Grenze eines kleinen Ortes am Sairee Beach (ca. 2 Minuten Fußweg) liegt. Zusammenfassend waren wir rundum glücklich mit der Auswahl der Unterkunft und können diese ohne Bedenken weiterempfehlen!

ダイビングで５泊滞在しました。　使用したショップ（BIG BLUE)が移転し、このホテルから歩いて１分以内となり非常に便利。　町の中心部の端のほうにあり、西洋人のドンチャン騒ぎから離れてとても静か。　ダイビングに朝食がついてない日があることを伝えたら早朝の時間外にも関わらず、我々だけの為に用意してくれた。　昨年は近くの　サンスマイルを利用したが、私はサマンサをお勧めします。

I've stayed at The Samatha numerous times and still enjoy it's simple but classy urban feel. The service is excellent and the main floor area for eating and hanging out is really great. Good coffee and a nice blend of western with Thai influence. Good food, good breakfast, big rooms (no tv, a very minimalist, industrial feel), great patios, and great location (close to everything but off a side road so it's quiet). The young owners have a great story and deserve continued support for their excellent enterprise.

rien à redire...bon emplacement et chambre confortable! Seul bémols, le personnel a tenté de pratiquer la bien connue dans les iles de Thaïlande "arnaque des draps sales" autre détails, l'eau courante étant salée les daps sont jaunes et moites mais ce n'est pas dérangeant juste déroutant la 1ère nuit.
