This is a hotel that happily ruins your holidays by canceling your reservation the night before your arrival. The reservation was made and paid two months in advance. Booked in February 2026 for two nights in May. Villa with private pool, around €1,500 paid in full upfront. I built a side-trip around it: round-trip flights from Tunis to Tozeur. The Mora was the whole reason to fly there. On the evening of 18 May, the day before check-in, a message appeared in the Hoteles.com app. Not a call. Not an email. A booking-app message citing 'force majeure', claiming they could not honour the second night. When I called the next morning, it turned out the message was wrong: they could not honour either night. Three months of notice from me. Eighteen hours of notice from them. Through an app. With inaccurate information. Only after several angry phone calls did they agree to rebook us, to a cheaper hotel 450 km away, leaving our flights to Tozeur with no purpose. The General Manager then wrote a polished email of 'deepest apologies' and promised in writing to refund the flights. I sent bank details that day. The refund never arrived. Follow-up emails are ignored. The one written commitment they made was quietly walked back. This is not bad luck. This is how they behave the moment they are under pressure. If you are considering The Mora for a honeymoon, anniversary, or anything you cannot easily rebook, think very carefully. There are better properties in Tunisia.

My original room did not have AC. The Safeway’s broke and other things were not good. It’s not right to go to your $300+ room and have to pass a bunch of dirty dishes, linens and a bed

This was, by far, the best hotel I stayed at in Tunisia — what an experience. We traveled with young children, and every single detail of our trip was perfect. The staff was so pleasant, accommodating, and really treated us like valued guests and friends. Nidhal, the Guest Relations Manager, was so helpful and really went above and beyond to help us plan our entire stay. On Christmas Eve, we missed an event in the lobby — they realized we were missing and sent our room a plate of chocolates and desserts from the event. That gesture says everything about how much they value their guests. Nidhal also helped us coordinate a babysitter, which was such a wonderful touch — available whenever we needed, and really allowed us to enjoy our evenings. The rooms were absolutely stunning, the desert views were so serene, and we loved having breakfast on the veranda every morning. The traditional hammam was so relaxing that I went every single day of our visit. We also truly loved the dining at Mekong — absolutely delicious and truly authentic. I have already recommended this place to all my family and friends, and will be visiting every time we go to Tunisia. Thank you so much for making our vacation so wonderful and relaxing.

This property is absolutely beautiful! A true oasis in the middle of nowhere. A special thank you to the manager, Rihab, and Mr. Ahmed, who assisted with our luggage; both were incredible and made us feel welcome. However, we had an incredibly difficult night due to a persistent sewage smell in our room. We were moved at 2:00 AM to a second room, only to find the heater was broken. In December, this was freezing and unacceptable, resulting in a third room move in a single night. While the staff tried their best and we appreciated their efforts, these issues were disappointing given the premium price. When paying for a one-of-a-kind experience, you expect the basics to be seamless. It’s a gorgeous location, but travelers with high expectations should be aware of these potential technical lapses.

Je tiens à partager mon expérience extrêmement décevante dans cet hôtel. Le service était tout simplement horrible. On m’a changé de chambre trois fois, et à chaque fois il y avait un nouveau problème. J’avais réservé une villa avec piscine chauffée, mais l’eau n’était jamais chauffée malgré mes demandes répétées. Ils m’ont transféré dans une autre villa, et rebelote, l’eau était toujours froide. Pour couronner le tout, dans la deuxième chambre, il y avait une souris qui a gratté dans le mur toute la nuit, m’empêchant de dormir. En ouvrant un placard, j’ai même découvert la souris à l’intérieur. Franchement, vivre ce genre de situation dans un hôtel censé être de standing, c’est juste inacceptable.

Beautiful luxury resort. The hammam ritual was wonderful. Security is good as well. Service was so friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean, beautiful, large and well appointed. I enjoyed my meal at Saraba though it was pricey, but for a buffet with many excellent options and grilled lamb chops, steak or merguez. Other nights we went into Tozeur to eat. Although more disconnected from local culture than our other hotel stays in Tunisia, it was a bit of a respite from our travels, as a woman, to be able to relax a bit in our attire as well and enjoy Western facilities in a resort.

Pour une visite rapide à Tozeur et deux journées de détente, nous avons choisi l’hôtel Anantara… et c’était une magnifique expérience. L’hôtel est calme, paisible, parfait pour se reposer. La nourriture était excellente et très variée : fruits de mer, poulet, viande rouge… un vrai plaisir, entre plats traditionnels et cuisine internationale. La chambre était très propre, le service attentionné, et le personnel toujours souriant. Un endroit impeccable qu’on recommande vivement.

Resort beem acima da media, funcionarios muito educados e preparados, concierge muito dedicado. Estrutura sensacional, extemamente limpo e bem cuidado, quarto excelente, super confortavel e espaçoso, cama, lençois e travesseiros excelentes, shampos, sabonetes e condicionador otimos tambem. O restaurante sem comentarios, impecavel, comida excelente, super saborosa e variada. O hotel esta muito proximo da perfeicao, fica dificil apontar pontos a melhorar, no geral a sauna podia ser liberada sem cobranca adicional, no mais nada a apontar, estao de parabens.

Amazing hotel, very confortable, incredible staff and attention to details. Food was very good and the room was huge and beautifully designed. An oasis in the desert.
