6 times staying here so I think that says something 5 star for me

It was nice, clean and great staff

We booked the royal suite. While booking staff told us that more than 4 visitors are allowed and later after booking and at 3am in the morning they told us that max 4 visitors are allowed. The behavior from staff was rude and not professional or helping in any way.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel The hotel really lacked both in service and comfort. We had booked a suite with a sofa bed to accommodate 3 guests. On arrival, at 3 in the morning, the sofa bed had not been made up and we had to request it. Hotel decor is dark and old. Corridor on the 9th floor had a particular stench that was overpowering and unpleasant. Frequent smell of sewage in the bathroom. Staff in general were surly and disinterested, some were really quite smelly. Basic hygiene should be a prerequisite for hotel staff. Breakfast was poor - limited selection and the juice canisters were frequently empty. Fresh, uncut fruit like apples and pears, was only provided on one day and then disappeared. Small beach and pool area for the size of the hotel. Hundreds of sun loungers were squashed together which meant you were often a couple of centimetres from a stranger - no privacy or comfort. Beach staff not attentive - empty glasses and bottles were not cleared away. The area where the hotel is located - JBR - is a nightmare traffic wise. Some taxis refuse to take you there, Ubers cancel, and you need to leave at least 20-25 minutes to just get out of JBR if you have a restaurant reservation elsewhere. The noise of the road - and the super cars reviving their engines - can be heard even from the top floor rooms and it goes on all night.

Property and surroundings were beautiful. I found breakfast to be expensive but we ended up finding alternative options outside the property which were great and affordable. Other than that it was great location.

I hadn’t realised I had booked an accessible room and to a great extent it was that. However the bathroom needed an upgrade. It was impossible to use the shower without flooding the bathroom floor. The floor of the shower sloped up then down & only a small portion was flat. If the shower was up high the whole floor flooded. No room for a toilet bag, no lid on the toilet. As the floor became flooded it would have been v easy to slip.

Great service. Alot of resturant options inside the hotel and outside of it. Very clean.

Excellent location. Pool is in the shade during January so we went to the connected beach. The shops were amazing on the strip outside with loads of restaurants and bars. We upgraded to a suite which was about £500 for the week which we more than got back in the exec lounge with breakfast, afternoon tea and happy hour 6-8pm. It’s a little outdated but the location makes up for it. The one niggle I had, which is not a reflection on all the staff, was when I was trying to return a towel in the morning. I felt like I got told off for taking it to my room. When I went to my room the night before it was 10pm (we were in the pool side bar till late) and the towel hut was closed, so I took it upstairs as you do. I went to get a fresh one and was told ‘you don’t do that madam’. I’ve never had a problem taking towels upstairs before and wasn’t informed they couldn’t leave the pool area. I told them sorry, and they were closed, but felt embarrassed at the harsh tone. That is literally the only issue I had all week and it’s more a me thing than a hotel thing. Lovely stay
