Breakwater is a great place to stay if you want a reasonably priced cottage near the beach in the Grayland - Westport area. The first cottage we stayed in was much too small but for the second night we were moved to an available larger one with a king bed. That was great. These are pretty basic units but the bed was comfortable and there is a decent kitchen. The beach is about 1/2 mile down a path or you can drive down the beach access road and go right onto the beach. If you are a clam digger or just a beach comber this is a great beach. Grayland is small and doesn’t have much to offer. Westport at the end of the peninsula about 10 miles has more activities.
Nice, neat little unit, decorated nautical/mermaid style. Everything is clean and in good working order inside, and organized grounds with hot tub, playground, pickle ball court outside. Clear self check-in and check-out instructions and direct communication opportunity with management during the stay. Two grocery stores nearby great for refreshing supplies. The only notable disadvantage was the thin walls with noise clearly audible from even a well behaved smaller company, let alone a larger one with multiple small children.
From the beginning, communication was excellent. Finding where our unit was straight forward with the map they provided. The unit were very clean and well set up. There are some cooking essentials provided in the kitchen and enough plates and glasses for up to 6. Beds were quite comfotable. The path to the beach is well maintained, although you need to be very aware of your bearings for returning as there is very little to indicate were the path is when coming back from the beach. Met some of the staff the following morning and they were very fireindly and helpful. All in all, this was an excellent place to stay.
