InterContinental SAINT PAUL RIVERFRONT, an IHG Hotel

Hotel is nice but outdated somewhat. Its in a not-so-good part of town. Valet was really frustrating. It costs extra per night and took 30 minutes to retrieve the day we departed. You have to go to the desk to request your car instead of being able to call down like most places. No breakfast (except at the restaurant) and we couldnt get room service for coffee/tea. Overall this felt like the frontier of hotels, mediocre at best but gets the job done. Be prepared to spend (above market average) for small conveniences that are typically included.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and there were a lot of food options within walking distance

Every staff member was courteous and helpful. Literally the only reason I didn't give 5 stars all around was that we weren't told to use our key card to access our floor so the first 2 elevator trips were slightly confusing. The room was very clean, the view was gorgeous especially at sunrise, and valet parking was a huge bonus.

My husband and I stayed here recently to attend a concert at the Xcel Energy Center. We stayed on the 7th floor and had an incredible view of the river! The room was nice and clean. It was also a perfectly walkable distance to our concert. Every single staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful.

everything was excellent except for my check out experience, i call the front desk asking for late check out, she was rude by phone, i just needed like ten minutes more and she said ten minutes make a difference.

Did not love our stay here. It was extremely hot the weekend we came and our room was so humid our floors, sheets, and packed clothing were actually wet. The valet parking is nice, but is expensive and only way to park. It is convenient next to restaurants but will absolutely not stay here again, not worth the price tag.

The proximity to the Excel Center was ideal, which was a major plus for our stay. However, we had significant issues with our room. The air conditioning did not work, and due to the humidity, the carpet felt damp. Maintenance attempted to fix the issue twice on our first night, and while we appreciated them eventually bringing a fan, the air conditioning still wasn’t working properly. The next day, I requested to switch rooms, but was not offered an equivalent room to the one we originally booked. I was told the hotel was sold out, yet I was able to find availability for similar rooms online. By that point, we had already moved and didn't want to spend more of our weekend dealing with the front desk. While we appreciated the location, the handling of the room issue and lack of transparency around availability were disappointing.

It was a very nice hotel.

clean, staff was great. room was small. no microwave. if you get a discount, it was a good value. If you paid full price, not so much.

The location was wonderful for an event at the Xcel and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the room itself smelled horribly musty, wasn’t very clean (especially the shower), and overall wasn’t impressive.

Air conditioning in every part of the hotel was terrible. Room was subpar and tiny. Beds were very uncomfortable.

This hotel overall is okay. We stayed the night because we were seeing a show and didn’t want to drive home. It serves its purpose but the walls are thin (you can hear everything) and the rooms are fine when it comes to cleanliness. The staff are great though, especially the valet attendants and bartender.

Felt like it used to be a really nice hotel but it could use some love. A renovation is in order.

Hotel is older and in need of updates. The AC wasn’t working so it was pretty miserable on this hot day. You are unable to call all ahead to Valet.

No body wash. Bathroom fan did not work. When I took a shower, the bathroom became very warm, and the smoke detector was alarming for multiple times. There was a burning smell. An engineer came to check and said that was common because the smoke detector was installed right besides the bathroom… Then the fan will be fixed tomorrow (after we leave).

We loved being on the river and had a great view from our balcony. It had a very comfortable bed which was definitely appreciated. We will definitely stay here again, and will recommend to others.

I recently stayed at a hotel that was a complete disappointment. The accommodations were subpar, with the air conditioning barely working and the room feeling stuffy and uncomfortable. The price I paid for the room did not match the quality of the stay at all. The only positive aspect of my stay was the butler named Girma, who was attentive and helpful throughout my time at the hotel. Additionally, the valet parking service was efficient and convenient. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to others based on my experience. The lack of proper air conditioning and the mismatch between price and quality make it a poor choice for accommodation. The only saving grace was the excellent service provided by Girma and the valet parking staff.
