Don’t recommend. I was charged for a facility amenities $23 per night (coffee) which I was not informed about prior to check in.

Easy in and out process for a short stay. Walked around and found everything I needed

Good all around except issue both on check in and check out .Upgrading their software/ PMS they had not transferred our booking so looked like we had no reservation. Took 2 of them several minutes to book us in. Frustrating as had been emailed day before to check in online with all our details(like airline)otherwise our booking would be seen as a no show .On checkout found they had not connected rooms for charging so delay while connected 2 room booking so could settle with one payment

Rooms and lobby are run down and shabby. No way this hotel deserves 8/10 stars. More like a solid 6. Front desk clerks were having a computer system problem (without realizing it). Swiped my credit card multiple times telling me it was declined. It wasn’t. They charged my card 4 times before I started getting Chase notifications on my phone with all the charges. They were insulting and incompetent. Perhaps if your system is down don’t insult the guests.

Great hotel and area.

Great old hotel, very different from the other chains. Love the older charm and right across the street from The Drake, another cool hotel. Price here was great as well, although I do really get tired of the price not reflecting the 'resort fees'.

Everyone was so gracious & welcoming. The hotel is a grande dame that has held up well over time. The cafe is great for breakfast and lunch. Even though we didn’t drink at the lobby bar it looks great. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a good stay overall. The staff was not overly friendly but nice enough. We did run into one nice young man who overheard us talking about the Crystal ballroom and offered to take us in to see it. He was very engaging telling us about some of the history and how the room is used today. We also encountered a very nice server at the restaurant who helped me make some change (we hadn’t eaten there just stopped by to see if they could exchange some larger bills). He was very friendly and I’m sure was a great server as well! If I had any complaints it would just be that the hotel is getting old and could definitely benefit from some updates. The carpet in the hallways clearly has had some flooding issues and the carpet in our room had several spots where it was fraying or missing in spots. Several lights in the ceiling in the hallways are ripped. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable aside from the sheets that sounded like paper and were so loud every time you moved. We reserved 2 King studio suits (floors 7 & 8). The view is awful from these rooms so definitely don’t expect the view you see on their website. We looked out directly to the other side of the building and could not see any of the city. Luckily we were just there for one night and scored a good deal so it was ok. The location was great being just off Michigan Ave.
