Good idea

Location is great, but the hotel itself did not do a great job. The chair in the room was missing a leg, the charger in the middle of the bed couldn't be charged, the bathroom was too small, the tone was very rude during check-in, and there was an extra charge for luggage storage, all of which made me feel that this hotel was overpriced.

I come to NYC four or five times each year. I haven't stayed at the New Yorker for about twenty years. I first discovered the place out of curiosity regarding its most famous guest, Nicola Tesla. I love the proximity to Moynihan Train Hall and Penn Station. I found the hotel to be in fairly good shape, with noticeable improvements in the furnishings, but still maintaining much of the original charm. I received an upgrade to a suite my original booking. Unfortunately, after a horrible situation with my travel companion in which I was verbally assault. and physically threatened I sought help from hotel security to have him removed from my room -which had been paid in full in advance. Much appreciation to the two gentlemen from security who handled the situation promptly and discreetly. I was transferred to a single room. I wish there could have been some compensation for the difference in price over the five night stay.

Thay accommodated me a wonderful room after I realized it was worth paying a fee for an updated room.

Check in was easy. Front desk lady was helpful and got us early check-in. What was really annoying was the guys standing by the elevator that constantly harassed me to see my room key. Anytime I left my room and came back they would ask to see my room key. Outside the hotel my 14 y/o and 11 y/o constantly inhaled marijuana. Sad state of affair in NYC.

Great customer service and accommodation to our need for early and late check-out.

When I make the reservation, they show me a picture for a big bedroom i pay more money to get the bedroom. as soon as I get to the hotel. they give me a different room which I make a reservation I didn’t get the same room. which I paid for so I don’t like this hotel zero I don’t like it zero

Do not recommend; very run down; bathroom was dirty

The hotel room did not clean the floor. So it was still wet because somebody spilled coffee there before me.

Es una gran opción de bajo presupuesto pues se encuentra en medio de todo y además la atención de todo el personal siempre fue excelente, quizá solo le falta mantenimiento y un poco más de limpieza en los pasillos, pero para solo llegar a dormir es perfecto

Excelente atención, camas muy confortables, cuarto limpio y amplio para el stadard de otros hoteles. Muchos lugares atractivos a poca distancia caminando (Madison Square Garden, Macys, Empire State, Times Square y Penn Station).

overall it was a good stay however there was a lot of thumping or banging above our room. and this was at 1am. i don’t know what it was but it was going on for awhile.

Great hotel, location perfect and staff extremely helpful! only improvement would be valet parking! Would stay again.

We always choose the New Yorker when coming into the city. Easy walk from the train station, centrally located to our destinations and steeped in history. Staff is always super helpful!
