All good, did not like the continued presence of the national guard workers, but that wasn't the fault of the hotel.

We started in our nation's capital, where the Pendry Hotels & Resorts hotel at The Wharf was our stylish home base. Its rooftop bar, Moonraker, and the gorgeous outdoor pool were absolute highlights. The actual birthday dinner at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell's Kitchen was a fiery and unforgettable experience. We ended the night at the MGM Grand for a little gambling, where Luca was lucky and I broke even. We also loved the fresh, local feel of The Fish Shop and the delicious food at Pink Tiger (The owner sings). We also enjoyed lunch with Christine Clifford, CMB and her son, Grant.

I had a terrible experience. It was my wife's birthday. I asked before coming days in advance, if they could place champagne, roses, balloons, and a cake. They told me no problem. When we got there they gave my water view king room away to someone. Told me they upgraded me. They gave us a small, cramped queen bedroom with no view. Also, when I wanted to complain, I was greeted by two African Americans who were very rude to me. And all I asked from them was an apology. And did not receive one until 3 days later from a very nice woman.

My stay at the Pendry was amazing. The food options poolside were great. The Cuban wrap is a must. The staff at the pool were very accommodating and help. The only complaints about the pool is that there was a lot of loose tiles on the pool deck. The bed was very comfortable and rooms were very spacious.

Beautiful property

While the reception area is small and quaint, this location is situated in a very convenient location on the river, where plenty of restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The spa and pool area are attractive and calming and the rooftop restaurant, Moonraker, has a wonderful view of the river and city. The property is clean and well maintained, the room was quite nice, and the staff and service were outstanding (save for one receptionist with a hyphenated name and skull tattoo on her chest, who is curt and borderline rude). Commendations for Nya at the spa, Donald and the young lady from the pool area, Executive Chef Barry, Yana in reception, and Janet from the Pendry bar. The bell staff were also to be commended. Almost everyone went out of their way to ensure my stay was accommodating, my needs were anticipated and met, thus my expectations as a guest were exceeded. Details were not overlooked and I had a great interactions with 99% of staff. It was a fantastic experience and I would not hesitate to return.
