Property was beautiful. The stay was good. Rooms were clean and cute. Had a small issue with the door lock but staff was easily reachable and quick to resolve. Great place to stay if you don't mind the motel atmosphere and no frills.

Perfect for our long weekend! Clean and tidy! Close to restaurants and beaches. Loved the firepit!

According to policies emailed before the stay there would be clean towels and housekeeping every third day of the trip, this did not happen. We had to buy extra towels, dispose of our own garbage, and buy toilet paper. The toilet seat was not stable and slipped around constantly.

The owners were nice. Room was pretty and clean.

My sister and I really enjoyed our stay at Shady Neck. The rooms were perfect for what we needed. The fire pit was perfect!

Nice place, near beach

Easy check in. The room smelled musty when we first got there but we opened the windows and it was fine.

I wish they would have extra trash bucket in the bathroom. Vending machines were not replenished and do not accept cards. Other than that we had zero issues with access!

It was great to be back after nearly 50 years! The property looks great. We’re wondering what happened to units 1-14 though. Sad to see them go.

Amazing stay

This sweet motel in the past has been terrific. This time we had a room that clearly had suffered water damage. Smell of mildew and many large ants, door too swollen to close. Cleaning staff could not respond to simple requests for caffeinated coffee and cups to drink it in. Batteries to remote were dead and after requesting replacement, we were given the wrong size. This stay ruined our 2 night get away between having asthma and hating bugs, I couldn’t sleep. Oh and the shower handle fell off leaving one with very hot water until getting the handle back on. We were so disappointed after having a nice stay here last year. We went home early 😢

The refrigerator did not work - not enough cream or sugar - only shampoo and soap and no one on site - the place was clean and pretty but too impersonal for me

Ok for the purpose

the remote for room temperature was impossible to figure out. (Hence we froze) the toilet was sized for use by a child (much too low for an adult). shower so small that you could not turn around in it and the handle would not stay on. no telephone in room at all. there weren't any comfortable chairs in the room just to sit on to plan your day. door had code entry that we had to scramble to get because it was not provided to us ahead of time. the adjoining room had merely a slide bar, no lock (very concerning since we did not rent that room as well. room not comfortable for average sized adults .tv reception was very bad, channels pixelating incessantly. no coffee in room. attic access just above the bed? (also a safety concern) room looks like it was decorated by the christmas tree shop .INNKEEPER WAS NO WHERE TO BE FOUNDl

We didnt stay.No one was available to check us in.I asked a man drinking in the parking lot if he could contact the owner.He said he knew him personally he called him and owner Ryan gave him are door code to give to us!!! So we can say there was zero security. We at that point had decided to find other accommodations.I did however inspect the room,it was in no way shape or form the one on website....within 1 minute the room came alive.I had a close look above the rear window curtains and there were half dozen bedbugs,clinging to the wall waiting for there next meal.
